OT SURVEY: Does salt go in the shaker with 3 or 4 holes??
OK, laugh at me all you want. I got a salt/pepper set as a shower gift. They look identical other then the number of holes. One has 3 and one has 4. Which is for salt, and which is for pepper? Thanks in advance! :-)

OT SURVEY: Does salt go in the shaker with 3 or 4 holes??
My sister and brother in law got into a funny tiff about that. He says that the salt goes in the one with more holes but my sister says it doesn't really matter. I have no clue so can't help you with this one.

How funny!!!
A few months ago I noticed my brother & his wife have their salt in the shaker with less holes which I thought was strange. Their reasoning is that salt comes out faster than pepper. Since then I have been mentally noting what people do with their shakers. I think the salt gets more holes too. Salt tends to be used more liberally than pepper. Thanks for the laugh, I thought I was the only one who wondered this...

No question...
I am totaly positive, the salt gets the one with less holes. The reason is you don't want to over salt your food an ruin it. More control = less holes. Most people would want more pepper than salt on their food anyway.

Salt I've had in more holes...
I had salt and pepper shakers that were marked by the manufacturer 'S' on the salt and 'P' on the pepper, and the salt shaker had more holes than the pepper! Who the heck really knows!! I thought I was positive until I read Debbus' post! LOL :)Welcome New Vendors
