I did my first microderm treatment today (getting ready for the wedding)and it was SO painful. I am so scared to do it again and I am very red right now.

Where did you go? I got one a few weeks ago at Laser Plus Spa in Bellmore and it didn't hurt at all. The extraction weren't pleasant, but the micro wasn't bad. All of my redness was gone the next day. I'm gonna go back next week during spa week, made my appointment today.

I know what u mean. I have a popped blood vessel on my nose I had forrever and I am having laser surgery to remove it. So red today!

I would look into another office...I got a few done at Laser Cosmetica...they just moved to Syosset...give them a call

I purchased a Living Social Deal for a Facial at When Style Counts in Farmingville. It was only $29 and she offered me micro for an additional $20. It didn't hurt at all, I was not red at all, and it was the best facial I ever received and I have been to many great spas. I highly recommend her and she said she'd honor the living social rate for future appointments. If not I think it's only $50 which is pretty reasonable, too.

I go to my dermatologist, I am doing it to get rid of acne scars so I am thinking if is more aggressive bc I have terrible skin. I was pinkish this morning but now it is much better. I hope I see an improvement by my 3rd session bc I want nice skin for the wedding

I'm with Laser Cosmetica too! They are great! I signed up for a package which includes, laser genesis, micro's, & 2 types of chemical peels. They are great to work with & the micro's do not hurt at all!

I've gotten microdermabrasion done and it didn't hurt at all...i got it done at a plastic surgeons office so i'd assume it would be the same strength as a derm...maybe your face is just sensitive...do you use retinol creams often? that might make you more sensitive.

I get a monthly chemical peel at my dermatologist and it's awesome...they've definitely improved the texture of my skin. If you don't have significant acne but your face is never CLEAR necessarily, i highly suggest talking to your derm about chemical peels and face-clearing antibiotics like minocyclin...i did it for a few months and i didn't have a single blemish for a while. Of course you can't stay on antibiotics year round (especially if your'e on birth control) but you can do it for the month or two before your wedding and it will help a lot!
