Our car was stolen! Anyone know a good Subaru Dealer?

Someone stole our Honda Civic Friday from the Ronkonkoma RR station. We filed a report. Police said 13 cars were stolen from that station this month - 10 were civics. I had the car for 7 years - it only had 70K mi on it and it was debt free. I expected to have it for many more years to come..

Since I doubt we will ever recover the car, I'm now in shopping mode. After spending hours researching I'm looking seriously at the Subaru Forrester.

Can anyone refer me to a good dealer?

So sorry to hear about your car - that's terrible. I don't know anything about Subaru's.

That happened to my dad at that station YEARS ago. He got off the train and saw his car on four jacks!

I'm so sorry about your car!

My FH has a Subaru - he Adores it!! We got it about a year ago from the dealer in Hicksville. They were really nice there, not pushy or shady at all. The whole transaction went really smoothly. I highly recommend them.

I FM'd you...My father has a car dealership...he can get any car, old or new...plus give you 10% off if I refer you to them...FM if you want more info

Nothing super valuable. We did have an ezpass and $150 worth of gift certificates. : (

Has anyone bought a car through 'Cars Direct'?

Yes - I am looking forward to the new car feeling..although it is bitter sweet. This was the last car I bought - premarriage - my maiden self is truly gone!

My brother bought his 2003 honda accord ex v6 through carsdirect.com, and he got a great deal. I believe they also delivered the car right to his house, which is really cool.

Good Luck with the next car. Subaru's are really an excellent car. My aunt and uncle only buy Subaru Wagons...The last one they had, they were driving on a rain slicked highway when they had an accident, went off the road and landed in a ditch. The car was totaled but they walked out of it with no scratches or anything.

My other friend Adam, had a 83 Subaru gl 5 speed with 200k miles on it when he sold it. The car ran amazing and had no problems at all. All it needed was an oil change every 3k miles and gas....Great car.

Thanks to all of you for your comments and support! I feel so much better now - more hopeful!

The insurance company said they usually wait 30 days to see if the car is recovered so I'm going to wait a bit before pulling the trigger on a new purchase...although many people tell me recovery of a civic is a pipedream.
