Our Cat is Dying!!

Well, a while back I had posted how our cat was very sick and with a lot of vet care and TLC she made a grea recovery, but we were told she would not live a full life and they gave her 2-3 years to live. Well, it looks as though it will be a lot sooner. She is dying right before our eyes and we are completely devestated and don't know what to do. We do not want to take her back to the vet so they can poke and jab her with needles. We already know she has a terminal disease and feel it is not only mean to put her through that, but we can not afford it. She has just gone downhill this week. Very disoriented and she has lost a lot of weight. It is just a matter of time. We just don't know what to do. We were discussing tonight what we will do with her when she dies. And we both started crying, because we don't know what to do. We have never had to go through anything like this before. DH just turned to me and said he is going to cry alot when she passes. I feel so bad. I am so affraid of coming home and finding her dead one of these days. We just don't know what to do. We have discussed burying her in a pet cemetary, but we don't know how much that costs. Then we discussed a taxidermist, but again, don't know the cost and if doing that would be good for us and our other cat. There is also my moms backyard, but I feel creepy doing that and we don't even know if that is legal. We are so upset and do not know what to do. We are just trying to do whatever we can to make her happy and comfortable right now. Please pray for Miss Kitty!! Our poor baby is going to leave us soon!!

my cat has been sick for the last month and a half....and i've spent a lot of time crying over him, so i completely understand....it's so difficult!


i don't think it's illegal to bury a pet in the yeard.....we did it with my cat when i was younger

I'm so sorry Try to keep her as comfortable as possible.
When my dog dies ( ) I want him to be creamated.

I love my kitty so much...and I lost my other cat over 5 years ago .. it was so painful to me, so I know what you are going thru

ETA: we did bury my late kitty in the backyard at my ex's parents .. (it was 'our cat'..) it was not creepy at all, it made us feel good to have her closeby

Our pets are members of our family, they mean the world to us.

You have to think about what is best for your cat, and she is suffering,...you should consider euthanasia..it is the most humane option.

It is the most difficult decision to make, but you don't want her to suffer, or yourselves to suffer.

So sorry you have to go through this. It is very hard to see any animal suffer.
Is that your only option? Is kitty in pain and suffering if so should you put kitty out of pain.
I don't mean to sound heartless and believe me I know it's not easy but animals are so fragile at least in my mind.

Hope you and DH are able to comfort each other through this sad time.

I lost my dog last summer. I know how hard it is when a pet is dying...I am so sorry!!

Im soooo sorry. My cat is 15 next month and I can relate to the love you can have fr such wonderful animals. I am soooooooo sorry. I gew up in Oklahoma and my parents always burried our pets in our back yard by our pool..it wasnt creepy at all, because every single pet we had used to love to hang out in the sun by the pool!!! I see nothing wrong with bruying yoru pet in yoru parents back yard...they even seel little plauqes to remember them. Again, I am so very sorry..I know how tough this must be for you guys!

Ive also known people who have had their pets cremated and have kept their ashes!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. Our family cat died last year and we were all devasted. We had him cremated and bought a kitty urn for him. Now he rests in the living room, the one room my mom didn't allow him to go in.

I had to give my doggie away in december when my dad passed away, I lost my whole family in an instant. But, obviously I am on LIWeddings because I am getting a new family, a hubby. The world has funny ways of working but if Kitty is suffering than she will soon be going to a better place.
