Our Day at Sears (Hell) LONG!**UPDATE

We had our appoitment for photos @ 1:30pm. I knew there would be a bit of a wait. But what happened was unreal. When we got there it looked like 5 families ahead of us. I was like fine. John took Patrick around the store so he wasn't forced to wait. Another family came in after me w/ this pregnant woman. She kept making comments that if you complain they usually help you quicker. I was like whatever. THEN she tells me that if you slip them $20 they will take you right away. I was like really but that's not fair! They called the families in everytime they wanted the next family. After an HOUR there was no names being called. Then I see miss preggo get up call her husband & slip into a room!! I could NOT believe my eyes!!! Besides the fact that she jumped in front of me she jumped in front of a family that had 2 kids 1 being a newborn! DISGUSTING!!
THEN...a family that had a 2:00 appoitment slipped into another room. I was like 'Oh hell no!!!' So, I got up & said 'Whats going on? I had a 1:30 appoitment & they (pointing to this family) had a 2:00. And then I said 'Not to mention this family w/ a newborn had a 1:00!!' I said it's not fair!! Of course my husband being a red headed Irishmen went balistic! (I always try to remain calm) They took the family w/ a newborn & said 'Oh your next' I kept saying how this is crazy & so not fair. (I really was in shock!) Then Ms. Preggers has the gawl to sit there and say I can't believe how this is going. I said 'What are you talking about you were AFTER me but, somehow you got in before me & the other family' She said 'Oh no I had a 1:00 appoitment' (meanwhile the WHOLE time we were waiting she kept saying 'I'm after you') And I did see her give the manager in charge her bribe!!!
We FINALLY were taken at 3:45 they took one photo it was not a good one & Patrick had enough so we left!!! 2 1/2 hours for NOTHING!! I will NEVER go back to them & I will call the Sears home office & tell them EVERYTHING!!!

I'm sorry you had such a horrible time at Sears! You should definitely call the head office or talk to management at Sears and tell them that their business practices are a bit questionable (slipping someone $20 to get ahead in line?!). Keep us informed as to what you will do.

Just got off the phone w/ the home office. I could hear the guys jaw hit the floor when I told him! He called the stores Manager & they are going to investigate it. They want to catch her in the act. It did seem like they are going to take this very seriously! He told me he hopes I will still shop in Sears but just never go to that one!!

I do hope they follow up and find out for themselves. Those people should be fired.

I hope Sears follows up...they are a really old company and they have to keep their reputation up...are they going to follow up with you? did they offer you free photos? something???

some people have SOME nerve...what I want to know if why does she feel more important than everyone else waiting???

I agree...you should have AT LEAST been compensated for something....that would be better customer service! Sorry you had such a horrible experience. For those same reasons, I try to schedule any type of event like that for during the week, when Jeff is on vacation or something. Too bad it's not always an option.

Tracy what Sears did you go to? I worked for Sears Portrait for many years and they can't take bribes but they can take tips. They are not part of Sears they are a individual Concession (Our Paychecks are not from Sears) the main office is in St. Louis. Usually if someone walks in a room like that we tell them to get out and wait there turn (it does happen quite often). It is a extremely hard job as you can see during Xmas time. We work sometimes 12 hour days and sometimes do not even get lunch! They usually get the xmas backgrounds in October and that is the best time to go before the crowd comes. It is very hard to keep appointment times, because they only allow 15 minute sittings. Some take 5 minutes but others can take 45 minutes all depending on the subject. Just thought I would give some feedback from someone who has been through it.

Tracy...I am glad that you got something...

I think PetSmart or PetCo or both do xmas photos...if you have a pet...you can have the pet and child together...

No pets! But thanks for the suggestion.

My husband said I should take the photos. That I usually get some great shots so will just blow up one of them.

Try wal mart.. or even take your own photo and bring it to Costco or BJs and they will put it on a really cute photo card...

Good luck i am glad you got something....I worked retail for many years people have nerve...

you write a letter immediately! i didn't take the time to read everybody's responses, but knowing the ladies on this board, they would agree. Shame on them - and they are supposed to have such a high level of credibility with such a big name behind them....shame shame shame.
