OK, so I posted a while ago that my guy cousin got engaged and will be getting married almost 2 months earler than we will, stealing my spotlight!! But I am coping. Now.... mutha f%&$er is planning his eparty 6 weeks from now, which is hello MY E PARTY! So my mom called my aunt and told her, I just sent out the invites yesterday. She said nothing has been set in stone with them but she will try to postpone it. What the F*ck!!! I was so damn pissed, and so was FH. The wedding is one thing, but the damn eparty too... come on....

I know exactly how you feel. My cousin tried to book the same hall as me, even though she knew I already booked with them. It would have been fine, but she is getting married before me and we are inviting the same crowd.
I was so pissed when I found out, but it worked out because her mother made her change her mind about the hall. (it was not big enough for them )

I don't know what to say except that it is a popular time to get married. She is entitled to be bride as well. Although the eparty thing is ridiculous! I understand being upset and all but I think there is enough time inbetween for both of you to enjoy the spotlight. Good Luck with everything.

yeah that ***** about the e-party. i am sure they will change the date once they get your invitation in the mail. esp. cuz you booked yours first. it's hard with the whole wedding thing, we had the same thing go on with 2 of FH's cousins...they got engaged right after us, but they are actually gunna get married in 07 (both of them)...i am actually happy about it b/c i would like to see how their weddings go...it will be nice to go to 2 weddings before we have ours....
also, i felt really bad b/c i decided to have my wedding 2 months before my best friend. (she planned hers first, although didnt book it yet) I DEF am not trying to steal the spot light, but i did not want to wait that long, PLUS i picked my date b/c that works better for my family. (my brother and sis will be home from college then), if i waited it would have been hard for them.
try to look at it as positive though...b/c your wedding is after, theres will already be over and done with...it will be YOUR day.

OMG What a small world, I am going through the same thing right now. Except my cousin who got engaged is not the problem its her sister. My cousin who got engaged is focusing on purchasing a house but for some reason her sister (who WAS my closest cousin) is pushing trying to have her wedding 4 months before mine and has the nerve to ask me for suggestions. I am soo livid!

I have a few family members trying to race down the altar before me -- it has little to do with is, its their insecurities!! .. whatever.. you have to think about it.. people who want to be there will be there cause they love you and are happy for you.. the others.. if they bail.. do you really want them anyway?.. it just ***** that this person is deliberately doing this to you.. i would definitely say something.. this way they cant say well i didnt know.. ya know.. call them on it..

wow thats unbelievable, and very rude!! i'd be pissed also! It sounds to me like she's jealous or something and trying to steal your 'spot light' as you put it!! I would definately talk to her about this...hope everything turns out ok
