Our New House is Possessed??? HMMM

I have to be honest, I NEVER believed in ghosts until my friends moved into an old house in Stony Brook. JT made a documentary about it being haunted, and we're pretty sure we proved it's haunted. When you watch the tape you can see the flashes of light and orbs and what not. It's VERY freaky. You should set up a video camera at night to see if you see anything. That's really freaky. Are you sure it's not DH playing mind games with you, though?

DH is not that type of person, he is too busy working and he wouldn't even notice i use a comb. I wish he was, then at least I would know it's him and not some bizarre freaky thing!



it's bizarre, who knows i could have put it in a box of many boxes which are not unpacked yet.

I thought that my house was haunted too. The first night I stayed there (alone), I could bet my life on the fact that I heard footsteps coming up the stairs (high ranch). I just closed my eyes and prayed it would stop.

If you were working on a room, you would get this 'feeling' like someone was in the room w/you. My dog Gizmo would FREAK if she was there, she wouldn't get all weirded out in anyone else's house.

One night my brother was working there alone and could SWEAR (I didn't tell him about my experience) that he heard footsteps coming up the stairs too. He kept calling out for someone and no one was in the house. It freaked him out enough that he left. The same thing happened to our independant electrician, he was there one night working alone and 'heard' someone moving/walking around. Couldn't find someone, freaked out and left.

One day I discovered that one of the closets had been COVERED with crayon drawings, sayings, etc. like a child had been locked in there frequently. It was the foyer closet. I decided to paint it because the drawings/sayings were disturbing to me. As I painted it, I kept hearing a 'knock' at the front door. I kept checking and there was NO ONE there. I know it wasn't something like a ring and run, because I was looking straight at the door one time when it happend and it had a glass opening on it and NO ONE was there. I freaked out and left.

I found out from neighbors that the former owner's son had put up an arbor in the back yard as a tribute to his mother who passed in the house. It was rickety and we took it down when most of it fell down during a storm. Right after that, NOTHING. No strange incidents, no unexplained sounds. It was like the house was finally at peace. You could probably explain some of it away by saying the house was 'noisey' because the house was gutted or it was drafty, etc. But I can't explain away the 'knock, knock' on the door as I looked straight at it. F'ing weird!!!

I believe in orbs...in fact I was looking at Julz's pictures of her new remodeling at her house and there are a TON of orbs in most of her pictures. I have pictures of orbs when I was in Salem, MA and they are the same shape and color.

I would take pictures of the house too and see if anything comes up....you never know...

I 100% believe! I have seen 'people' walking or standing around in my house. I feel they are relatives through since they have been with me at my parent's house and now my new house.

Also- this is REALLY freaky- our neighbors bought their house across the street from us the same time we bought ours. They gutted their house like we did too. We moved in first and they came every night to do work on thiers. I would swear I would see lights turn off and on after they left. My DH called me nuts, but after they moved in, the started telling me that they thought their house was haunted. Doors would open, they would hear footsteps and once the TV turned on by itself and the volume turned up really loud.

One day they had someone come to give them an estimate on some electrical work. As the guy walked up stairs, he said 'helllo!' to no one in particular. My neighbor said 'what?' and he said, I just said hello to your grandmother sitting in the other room. She got chills up her spine and told them that she was the only one in the house and her grandmother was dead.

Well, they find out later that the old woman who lived in the house died IN the house and no one found her for a week (yuck!) All her sons had disowned her and she was a mean old crazy lady. The relator sold them the house knowing that the woman died in the den and never told them.

When you sit in the chair that is where the woman lay dying you can sometimes feel chills up and down your spine. Don't know if it's just my imagination at this point or not but freaky. My neighbor had the house blessed and we had done the ouija bord (as a joke) but it worked and asked the woman to leave. Not much else had gone on since.

Wierd!

Oh, these stories are great, they're sending chills up my spine!

I saw those too but I didnt want to say anything. The orbs in Julz pictures could also be dust or dirt on the lens...Since her hubby is working on the place...I am sure there is dust and dirt all over.

Orbs are like spirits that show up in pictures. It basically a ball of 'energy' so they say!!

It could have been dust, but I have the same circular white shapes in my pictures too. Also, Julz said that the grandmother loved that house so much that her ashes were scattered in the front garden....creepy.

We have a basement apartment in our house. We have a couple living there and the guy swears that our house is haunted. He is not the type of guy that I would think believed in this stuff. DH told them not to mention anything to me coz I would freak but of course they did.

He says he has heard footsteps when we are not home and that lights are turned on.

This stuff freaks me out!!!!

We had a picture taken of us at Halloween at my inlaws house, and there was an orb right in front of me. I told DH it was a ghost and he just laughed at me. I told him maybe it was my grandfather, he died on Halloween a year ago.

I think we lived on a haunted block in Elmhurst when i was younger. My stepmother said she saw a ghost in our housr out of the corner of her eye. She heard our door open and shut. And said she felt it was sad when we were moving. (not sure i believe that part). But we knew two other friends of ours who lived on the same block that had 'ghosty' experiences. I tried doing research to see if it was built over anything, or any battles were there.
