Out of town and overwhelmed

Hi all! I've been lurking on these forums for a while now and I'm still no closer to making a decision. I live in California and my fiance and his family are from Brooklyn, so we decided on a New York wedding. We are in the process of deciding on a venue for a May date 2016. I am completely in over my head with planning from a distance!!

When I was last in NY I had a chance to visit:
1) Russo on the Bay
2) Jericho Terrance
3) Coral House

I like both Russo's and Jericho but I know I haven't done enough research. I've seen mixed reviews on on the listed venues and its difficult to make an informed decision. Ideally we would like a elegant venue with good food. I've been to a reception at Jericho Terrance and thought the cocktail hour was good!
Can anyone give me some insight on their top venues and maybe costs. We are planning for 120 ppl max and are open to either indoor or outdoor venues for the ceremony :D. THANKSSSS!!

Out of town and overwhelmed

I went to a wedding at Russo's three years ago and the food was very good. I have never seen so much food at a cocktail hour.

Out of town and overwhelmed

I just got married at the Riviera Saturday June 20.... I'm also out of town, from Florida, and mayve I wasnt forceful enough because noone would give me a darn quote over the phone! It was $75 pp plus tax and Admin fee for the afternoon, 12 pm ceremony, 12:30-5:30 cocktail hr and reception with a 110 minimum.... I got a cordial bar, champagne cart, and choc fountain (which I didn't ask for, it was just there the day of) thrown in.... everything was amazing! It actually rained the day of so I had to move my ceremony and cocktail hr inside and it was still perfect! Most amazing day!! Oh and the ceremony was $500 extra... I don't remember my other quotes, but I remember the Venetian told me to bring in my quote from the Riviera and they'd try to match it.... I loved the Venetian, but my mom had just been there and noone at her table liked the food.. the food at the Riviera was AMAZING, I still crave the stuffed flounder!
