Ok so the vineyard said its very likely it will not rain on my day Anyway, whatever, I'm putting up a tent and not worrying about it.
But what do you do about bees and mosquitoes?!?!?! Any suggestions? Experiences?

Re: Outdoor Weddings and BUGS!
I was at a wedding at a botanical garden in the summer and the bee situation was horrible. I thought maybe they could have put on the end of the rows at least some of those tiki-torch things that supposedly repel bugs...

You can buy bee thingys that the bees fly into. Mary MOB

Ok first of all that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever herd of is a vineyard telling you it is very unlikely it for rain on your day!
Are they now registered as the official weather for eastern long Island?!? Wow.. Anywho.. You can only hope and pray for no rain and yes usually Sept around that time is pretty good but there is NO telling what mother nature will do that day. As you said you have a tent so your avoiding the hassle of people getting soaked. The one good thing I can tell you about rain is the bugs will go away.
My wedding was close to yours in date - it did rain two days prior but there were No bugs What I did do is have bug spray (Burt bee's) put into the welcome bags where the guests were staying.
I also brought the spray to the event , just in case. Hopefully a nice wind will pick up as it gets a bit chiller that time of year at night and can drop to 50d or lower and the mosquitos will disappear as they did for me. The bug spray was not even needed.

Yeah I thought so too, but then he says 'Well, we do a lot of praying here', that was the event planner there...
Then the owner tells me, that this is the Sunniest Spot on long island, if it wasn't as sunny grapes wouldn't be good.
lets see, so now I'm praying that it rains 2 days before the wedding ...

Re: Outdoor Weddings and BUGS!
I played the violin at a few ceremonies held outside at the vineyards...the gnats were unbearable! It's not so much mosquitos in sept it's more a problem with gnats. The third wedding I played there, i brought bug spray and it was soooo much better. I would def suggest supplying bug spray...it will be worth it I promise!
