Just taking a little poll. I'm 34 and realized I will be 36 on my wedding day. That depresses me kinda. This isn't my second wedding either :(

I can make you feel better. I was 40 when I got engaged and will have just turned 42 when i get married. But my FH was worth the wait.

I'm 50-something...and a first-time bride.
My FH and I met almost 8 years ago.
As long as there is true-love in your relationship, age is just a number

I was 2 weeks shy of my 34th birthday when I walked down the aisle. When your time is right, it's right.

I'm 32....and FH is 37 - will be 38 next year. The only thing I worry about is our children....when we have them...how old he'll be at certain points in their life....

Age is just a number. Don't be depressed about it. Everyone gets older and if you make it out to be more than it really is, you will age faster.
I'll be 41 on my wedding day, first time wedding for both of us. Just took a while for each of us to find each other...... worth waiting for. Look at it this way, we are more mature, most of us know what we want and how to get it. We don't 'have to' do anything we don't want to do because we are more mature. I didn't have the traditional bachelorette party, because in this instance, I do feel too old to go to a 'strip' club and to party all night long. Just a nice dinner and great conversation with my closest friends was just right for me. I know that there is some stuff that I can't control - like the weather - so I don't sweat over it. The wedding is just a party, a big party. Marriage is a lifetime.
It takes maturity to realize that.
So I raise my glass to all of us mature brides.

Re: Over 30 Brides?
You're all right, it just seems like most brides are so young and starting their lives out etc, I remember girls getting engaged in college. I think it was worth the wait, yes. We're not sure about kids, so that's not important really for us.

I'm 34 and will be 36 when I get married. I'm excited because I'm at a great station in my life and don't think I would have appreciated him or our relationship when I was younger and crazy.

Re: Over 30 Brides?
I was 34 when i walked down the aisle...and damn proud! (yes, our first marriage each). I am secure in who i am...financially stable..all things i was not back in my early 20s. Yes, all my friends were married for years and have at least 2 kids...but it wasn't my time until now...and i wouldn't have it any other way! Don't be upset!!!

Re: Over 30 Brides?
I will be 31 and FH will be 2 weeks shy of his 30th bday when we marry. I thought about it a lot when I was younger ... but as I got a little older, it didn't bother me as much. You are only as young as you feel and act :) I think about having children ... we definitely want them ... so we are probably going to have them soon after marriage.

Couldn't have said it better myself! My birthday's on 10/15 so I'll have just turned 30 when we get married. I'm happy about it...I can't wait for my 30s, I can't identify with those young 20-somethings anymore!

Don't worry about that. My mom was 37 when she had me and my dad was 40... They didn't miss out on a thing - my dad played with me, coached my basketball teams, etc., etc.
At 65, he's younger than most people half his age! Kids keep you young!

I'm turning 37 on our wedding day and FH will be 39 a few days later. Age doesn't bother me except when I think about trying to have children.
