Over Budget

How much over budget are you? FH and I just reviewed our budget and if we stick to our allotted budget for all the remaining items we need to buy we will only be a few hundred dollars over. Not too bad but we still have to get rings, favors, invitations!

Our budget went out the window when we tried minimizing our guest list - it ended up growing!

our budget was so small to begin with, so we went way over.. like... 5 Grand

however our goal was to walk away with no debt

so if not one person gave us a wedding gift, we would have still walked away debt free at this point :)

We're over by about $3,000 BUT that's only because I never put in our original budget cost of rings, didn't realize an officiant was so much money, and we added in video

The honeymoon was always a separate budget...I'm glad because then we'd be really screwed lol

We didn't have a budget either. We researched costs and did a lot of comparison shopping though. I didn't book one vendor or buy a major item without knowing how much it should cost and with a reasonable idea of what I was willing to spend.

I'm with you! And after wanting a small beach wedding, we're about 15K over what we originally wanted but about 5K for our NY wedding.

Im with you Im at almost 60k and Im not sure where it went its brentwood for heaven sake but I didnt go with the package so the vendors photobooth and lights. we paid out all cash

we also didn't have a budget because we aren't paying. Thank goodness for my parents because if it was up to a budget that I had to pay, we wouldn't be having this wedding. ETA my mom did give us a budget, but she keeps saying things like 'oh well, don't worry about the budget' and she never lets us know how much we've already spent

We've readjusted our budget a few times since getting engaged so we are on track for the 'final budget' but the is 10,000-15,000 more than our original budget

but We had no idea what wedding things cost so our original budget doesn't count as far as I'm concerned

Plus it depends on whose budget you look at... mine, which was based on us tryiing to get all the vendors with very basic packages since FH insisted we splurge on the hall or FH's 'THis is our wedding and we only do it once in a lifetime' philosophied budget, which is close to the truth
