Ok i went to my first photography vendor tonight and this was a place i really thought i wanted to use. however, i had in my mind a budget of spending about $4k for both photography and videography (I am not sure if that is a lil low) but i thought after asking a lot of girls on here the average many said between $3-5k. so i thought that was't a bad budget. so after the guy talks and talks forever he finally brings up the package prices...his basic package was just a 60 page photo album for me and my fh, no parent albums, just 2 large portrait photos, 2 smaller photos and my proofs (a thousand proofs). mind you there is also no videography brought up yet.... his lowest price for this basic package was $4100. to basically get parent albums and videography and no other extras the price would be $6250!!!! this is with no special things at all. honestly i am flipping out i thought there were a lot of quality places that will offer me this stuff for about $4000 am i too crazy for thinking that???Can anybody please help me because i really wanted to stay in my budget but i also want to have beautful pics. I really only need the most basic video package out there my photos are most important...PLEASE GIRS TELL ME WHO IS GOOD AND PLEASE GIVE ME QUOTES. i am stressing now.. thanks!!

Hi! I'm paying 5000 for my album, 2 parent albums, all of my proofs, 3 dvds, some prints, all of the rights to my pictures and 2 photographers and 1 videographer...as well as an engagement shoot. HTH

I;m paying 2400 for 2 Albums, 2 parent albums, 2 14x11 Photo Frames.. Alot more stuff... Plus engagement pics... OMG I'm just in love with my vendor...

I am paying $5000 which includes two photographers (husband/wife team), 80 image album for me, 1 parent album, 2 portfolios (for the in laws), 1 16x20 portrat, watercolor thank you cards, and of course our proofs.
It also comes with an engagemetn shooot with an 8x10 color or black and white photo.
In addition, it comes with a 'portrait for life membership' which would be if we were to do maternity shots, baby, etc....we don't pay the studio fee, just the pictures we want.
It is Visual Concepts if you are interested...they did my brothers wedding too!

I would recommend Thomas Paul, he's very accommodating to your needs and will create a package to stay within your budget. Just tell him what you want to spend and he'll help you figure something out.

Im with Golden Moments and i got 2 photographers and 1 videographer and the total was 5K. So if you only get 1 photographer with them you would pay about 4k. Whoever you saw probably overpriced you?

the guy asked about the town i lived in and kept saying how big the houses are their and how everyhouse has atleast 2 acres of land and once he thought my family was wealthy i felt his prices stayed high and he didnt work out any deals with me at all

I think his prices may be pretty average. I am paying $5,000 for 8 hrs of coverage with 2 photographers. Each additional hr we decide to use them for is $500. The flat rate includes a proof book, and online gallery access. All albums are extra. They don't really have packages, just add ons to the coverage rate. The albums and all may get pricey, but I know my pics will be great. They are 2 women who do awesome work.
I will also have 2 videographers at my wedding from another company. They are a super sweet couple who are actually getting married this summer themselves. They have a couple of packages, one for $2800 and one for $3800. They don't use big equipment and shine bright lights in your face. They use natural lighting and and work like they are just guests at your wedding. I am really excited to use them as well.

I just edited my post...
no we aren't but I met several photographers and we just clicked with them. I know its only one day that we will actually be working with them, but they are an awesome team. You can find there work in a bunch of publications and stuff, i just love there style. One is a bit more traditional, while the other is kind of photojournalistic, and together there style is a great combo. It does kill me to think that a lot of other people offer albums included and all, but when all is said and done I think I will be happy!

for around 5k after tax we are getting 2 photographers, couple album, parent albums, engagement shoot, enlargements, video for 10 hours, 5 chapters for DVD, proofs on CD, and a DVD with 500 of the best, all editing, music on the video, etc

im using duet and for 5k i got 11 and a half hours of video/photo coverage (2 photogs) my digital album 2 parent albums 3 dvds enlargements all proofs 500 dvd library with the best 500 shots
