Overwhelmed with Finding a Venue
Hi everyone,I became engaged just before the holidays, and while I put it off for a while, I finally started looking for venues and it is absolutely overwhelming. Everything is so expensive! We live on the Queens/Long Island border, so started looking at venues in the city... everything I've liked is almost $200 pp.! I really don't want to pay more than $130 pp (but prefer to actually keep it at less than $100 pp), so I was hoping that some of you guys may be of help in suggesting venues and sharing quotes.
Some info:
Guest List probably 100-125
Have not set a date, and I don't really have a preference of season (my mom and Fiance want warmer weather) or if it's a Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening (don't want afternoon)
Would prefer Nassau county only.
Food is a big deal, so suggestions of the best venues you've eaten at are greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Westbury Manor? Floral Terrace? I have been to both - liked the cocktail hour better than the actual dinner but that seems typical!

Do they usually hold one event at a time?

I believe that Floral Terrace is the only one of the above named that does 1 event at a time! The only time I have noticed other events going on at any wedding venue is when I go to use the bathroom.

I sent you fm with a list of venues I contacted with pricing. They're from March for fall 2016 but they'll give you a round about idea.

I don't know prices, but the Inn at New Hyde Park has one of the best cocktail hours I've ever been to. Bridgeview Yacht Club is also very nice and you might be able to get a great price for an off season, since it's on the water. Fox Hollow is also a very popular choice.

+1 for Fox Hollow! Not one wedding at a time, but the events are in totally separate parts of the buildings with their own bridal suites, bathrooms, CH rooms, etc. Plus, the events are staggered, so you don't run into other parties.

Allegria...its on the water in Long Beach. They host one event at a time. Because it's on the beach they give crazy discounts for off season weddings.

Re: Overwhelmed with Finding a Venue
We are getting married at Westbury Manor, we loved all the stuff that is included and even though I haven't been to a wedding there, a TON of people have had nothing but good things to say. They will prob quote you near to what you are looking for, but they do have more then 1 event going on.The other venues that I looked at that came in bellow the $100 mark that we loved were North Ritz (afternoon was under night was over), Chateau Le Mer its the border of Nassau and Suffolk, and I loved Riviera, they do one event, but we are over 200ppl so we felt it was too small to fit our guests. In queens there is this place called Vivaldi that I really liked, the food is amazing, but same thing with Riviera too small for our guests, but it would fit up to 150 nicely I think.
Happy Hunting!

Jericho Terrace can definitely be within your budget and the food is AMAZING and what you get for the price seemed to blow the other places out of the water. But fox hollow and milleredge I've been to this past year for weddings and they're fantastic as well. Happy hunting!
