So I just found out that the priest that I would have like to marry us is actually going to be taking some time off (thru the end of 2011) to finish his dissertation. I don't know if it's even an option that he could still marry us but it kinda stinks if he can't. It's not like I'm close with him or anything, but he has done all of our families recent events (marriages, christenings, communions). My SIL recommended another priest at the church who is also very nice so if it turns out the original priest can't perform our wedding than I will meet with the other priest. We won't know until November though because that's when we first meet with ANY priest.

would you be able to just ask this priest if he would be able to do any ceremonies so that you can ease your mind? if you have to wait til november it might make you crazy thinking about it.

well I am going to call sometime in the near future to ask him if he'd still be willing to do our wedding. He just made this announcement this past weekend at church and my aunt let me know. Like I said, I would really love to have him, but I understand if I can't.

I would definitely call. He may be willing to make an exception for your wedding day!
