Oy another registry question- did you register for a set of pots or separates?

I'm having that issue again! I feel bad making people spend $400-500 on me so I figured I'd register for separates so that others could get in on it, if they only want to spend $150. ugh I dunno. What did you do? Thanks!

I'm especially concerned cuz I registered for Calphalon One infused anodized... Want to get the ones that last, ya know?

Girlfriend stick with those...the calph. inf. are really great and one of the better ones on the market next to all clad.

Don't feel bad...get like the 7 or 8 piece..and I'm sure if one person doesn't get it for you.. a couple of people will go in on it. And feel free to register for some open stock on top of that, i.e. wok, 16 quart stock, griddle..blah blah blah..don't be bashful

you'll be surprised...they will be someone or a bunch of people that will buy it for you

and a vaccuum? AND bedding? AND appliances?

You'd think I'd never been to a shower before!!! I just hate expecting these sorts of things!

I too registered for the 10 piece calphalon and a few pieces of open stock.

I actually ended up getting the set for my engagement party. I didn't think anybody would spend that kind of money, certainly not until the wedding!

You'd be surprised. There's a good chance there will either be a few people who go in together on a big gift, or some close family member who wants to spend a little extra.

the woman at bbb said to register for the set, then register for the seperates as well that way guests have a choice.

Ya know, I thought of that! Not a bad idea - glad to hear it from a professional. Thanks!

i know it feels funny, but dont feel bad! we registered for the set and it was one of the first things bought... you'll be surprised how much some ppl want to spend - FH's aunt who is not really that close to bought us ALL of our china! you never know...

With registering for both the set and the separates, wouldn't you be afraid of getting doubles? or are you counting on people to note whether or not the set has been purchased before buying a separate piece?

definitely register for them!! we are also registered for Calphalon, but the Contemporary Stainless Steeel ones. we registered for the 10 piece set then open stock pieces that were not included in our set like a Wok, griddle pan, stockpots. you'd be surpirsed like everyone has said -- a lot of ours has been bought already too! your registry is a wish list - have fun with it if you don't ask for it they won't buy it for you. besides there are always people who go in on group gifts. go for it!1

we don't need a whole set of cookware, becuase I already made a massive $$$ investment on really high-end pots (hackman dahlstrom 98 - basically a european stylish allclad)

BUT we also have a collection of lecreuset pots which I'd like to expand... so we registered for a few pieces of open stock.... each pot costing about $120-200...

Pots are definitely for the immediate family / generous gift givers.... I would break up the pot sets unless one of your parents is getting it as a shower gift....

Tara, we registered for both and the same brand as you. We did that so if a group of friends want to go in together, they can and get the big set, if not, then there is the option to get the individuals too!!
