Parent Gifts

Parent Gifts

Even though FH & I are paying for this all ourselves, I want to get our parents something as a gesture other than the albums they are getting after the wedding.
Any ideas, what have you gotten your parents?

My parents are paying for the wedding so I want to do something big. I'm going t o look into sending them away for a few days. Have you thought about a night in a hotel somewhere after the wedding? They could probably use a little relaxation!

Our parents are paying for everything.
We are getting them a Hilton Gift Card for a weekend stay wherever they want to go.
My parents are babysitting while we're on our honeymoon so i know they will need it and his dad and step mom take wekends all the time so this should be great for all of them.

maybe a weekend away (upstate, penn., montauk) just the two of them

take them out to eat at their favorite restaurant

broadway tickets and a night in the city

sports tickets (if they are both into it)

hmmm....i can't think of any more...I'll keep thinking.

That does seem neat, I've never heard of that. I'm afraid most of those options are outside our means at this point.... great ideas though, your parents will be thrilled :)

Re: Parent Gifts

here's a sight that also offers pencil sketch drawing - their prices for oil painting are absolutely ridiculous(like i said - eckerds! lol) but the pencil sketches are really cool and it's a LOT cheaper. u may just want to check it out...here u go Painting from photos...

Re: Parent Gifts

here's another...the prices are much better & they have a ton of options...
Canvas On Demand

...also what about making a DIY photo book??? i'm actually going to make one of our wedding...they have incredible prices on kodakgallery, my publisher, picaboo, snapfish etc. u can fill it with all sorts of photos, quotes, stories, etc...i actually like that idea better than the painting that we did, and it's cheaper!

We bought my mom her DOJ, my dad cufflinks from Tiffany and MIL a digital camera.

We paid for the wedding ourselves but bought them gifts for saying thank you for being there for us through everything.

Re: Parent Gifts

I haven't thought of this yet -- but my parents are paying for 90% of the wedding, and now that I'm thinking of it, I am thinking of getting them a gift card to a hotel, maybe to Marriott, etc, so they can use it anywhere. I won't have much $$ but I can charge it .... trying not to charge anything else for the wedding.

FH's parents are paying for a little, I think ... so I suppose we will get them a giftcard to a nice restaurant or something. They will be living in FL by the time of our wedding (moving this fall ... ) so we really can't take them out ourselves, which I would rather do.
