I originally wanted to play both of our parents' wedding songs and have them dance alone. So as we are preparing for this and go to find out FH's parents' wedding song, they tell us they did not have one, there was no music at their reception, it was just a small dinner. So I don't want to just have my parents do that and not his. I was thinking of just making sure the DJ plays their song and not make an announcement or have them dance alone like I had planned. What do you think?

Re: Parents dances ...
is there any song that special to FH's parents? Maybe they can dance to that? Or just have them pick a song that they enjoy?

What I had at my wedding was a little different, but the same idea. DH's parents 49th wedding anniversary was a week after our wedding. We wanted to have the DJ play their wedding song and have them come to the dance floor for a dance. Needless to say, they couldn't remember their song (I guess cause it was so long ago). We had the DJ play 'Through the Years'. They loved it!!!

I was at a family wedding where the grooms parents were celebrating their anniversary within the month and they danced to their song...and then their entire bridal party joined them...after all those years...it was really hertwarming...not a dry eye in the palce....

I did this. My mom and stepdad didn't have a song for the same reason, so I let them pick one. How cute was my mom scrolling through song lists! It was really sweet.
