Parents meeting the FIL's TONIGHT!!

Yes, tonight. I'm super nervous and need some convincing that it's going to go well. His parents are kind of like the Cleavers, they're very straight, and my parents are kind of like the Osbournes minus the whole british thing. Plus they don't drink and my dad is a semi alcoholic, which most of the time can be humorous but not tonight. I warned him about his alcohol intake but he wanted to know if that included rum! ahhhh.

dont worry my families are the same way and your family will def. loosen things up so that they arent so tight a$$ed as my dad would say...

it'll be fine its not like they are going to see each other everyday so no worries

thanks girls! it went really really well! Dad still got drunk but luckily I've warned the FIL's about his drinking problem and they were able to laugh it off. Even more lucky, they drove home b/c dad passed out on the train on the way home. Anyway, they all really liked each other and FFIL told FH at the end of the night that he thinks he made the right choice, which was really good to hear because I never thought he liked me. I'm not sure if I've forgiven his mother yet for making ham during passover yet though. I wanted to thank all of you for the words of encouragement!!

oh im so glad things went well... we always expect the worst.... but its always the best to hear when it goes well.. its a scary thing!

Awesome!!!! Breath a BIG sigh of relief that it's over... and don't even sweat your dad.... your FIL's are family now, they would've seen your dad a mess at some point... rather sooner than later right?

Absolutely! it was a huge relief. They even plan on making plans to hang out in the future which really put my nerves at ease. I later found out that it was FMIL that convinced dad to drink! He offered her a drink and she said she's not drinking alone and he has to have something...I yelled at her and told her that anything crazy he does is on her head! She agreed to take the blame. Hopefully this helps my relationship with the FIL's, it's been a little rocky.
