Ohhhhh! That's odd. I've never seen that before. If they're married then just putting mr. and mrs. last name should be good enough. The other way would look weird to me.

Re: parents names on invites

how formal are your invitations? maybe you can do 'mom first name and dad first name last name'

How about :

Mr. and Mrs. dad and mom last name?

she doesn't want her maiden name, does she?

Re: parents names on invites

You can write

John and Jane Doe

or

Mr. John and Mrs. Jane Doe

request the honour etc..

Re: parents names on invites

That's what I wanted to do..

Mr. & Mrs. Roger & Mary Marx (etc. etc. etc.)

However, I was told this was grammatically incorrect.

Then I wanted...

'Roger & Mary Marx'

and I was told this was against etiquette, and my invitation vendor wouldn't do it for me... (all I have to say about that is )

I wound up with the traditional 'Mr. & Mrs. Roger Marx...'

See what your vendor will do for you!
