Is it proper etiquette to invite the parents of those in your bridal party to the wedding? Is it in poor taste to not invite them? Is this just a very outdated 'rule' that no one follows anymore?

Re: Parents of Bridal Party Members?
I'm not inviting my Bridal Party's parents. If I was close with them I would, but I'm not. I don't think you have to.

I think it depends how well you know them, how long, etc. Do what feels right to you.

Re: Parents of Bridal Party Members?
I guess it depends on who they are, if you are close to them but I would say no. Dont feel obligated to.

Re: Parents of Bridal Party Members?
I was told that it is proper etiquette, I happen to be close to my bp parents, so they are all invited to my wedding.

Re: Parents of Bridal Party Members?
I am only inviting the parents of my Maid and Matron of Honor. I have known my matron of honor since the fourth grade and grew up in her house. I know my maid of honor's whole family for 13 years and they have included me on every holiday celebration in their home since I can remember. There is no reason for them NOT to be there. Unless you have a relationship with them, there is no need to invite them. However, if they want to see their child all dressed up, invite them to the ceremony or have the BP member mention it if it isn't too uncomfortable.

Re: Parents of Bridal Party Members?
We did but we had a small bridal party and it just so happened that we both grew up with our MOH and best man's parents but if we didn't really know them well we would not have invited them.

Re: Parents of Bridal Party Members?
no way! there are too many people in our bridal party, it would be ridiculous. i am close to some so i'll invite them, but it's not a definite rule in my book.

Re: Parents of Bridal Party Members?
Well most of our bridal party was family but for the few friends we did invite their families. Not b/c its a 'rule' but b/c they have known us almost our whole lives and we wanted them to be their and celebrate the day with us!

I'm not but some of them I have never even met so I wouldn't invite them. Those that I am closest too are getting invited....
