Parents of Bridal Party Members?
Original post by kiwijonze
Is it proper etiquette to invite the parents of those in your bridal party to the wedding? Is it in poor taste to not invite them? Is this just a very outdated 'rule' that no one follows anymore?
Re: Parents of Bridal Party Members?
I am inviting my friends parents because i have known them all my life...except one BM i am actually inviting her inlaws because they are always over and we see them a lot..and i dont really know her parents that well
Re: Parents of Bridal Party Members?
We invited the ones that we were close to - came out to be the parents of our MOH and two best men, one GM and one BM.
Re: Parents of Bridal Party Members?
I'm really not close with any of the parents, since many are parents of college friends who live out of state or a several hour car drive away, thus my FI and I never had much of an opportunity to develop much of a rapport with them. However, I think one of my bridesmaids, who set up me and FI, was gossiping about the fact that I did not invite her parents (who I had seen a handful of times in college - which was 5 years ago), and it made me wonder if I was making a major faux pas by not inviting them. But clearly, there is no right answer to this question as it depends on the situation. Thanks, everyone!!!
