Parents--yours, his

Original post by xjulietx

Does anyone have parents who like FH/DH's parents and invite each other over and do things together? I do. I am heading over to FH's for his name day celebration with my parents. Our parents are like friends now

Nope not here.

My mom is friendly with the family of my brother's wife (my SIL). My mom calls her mom and they do things together. My mom will go for drinks with her mom andher aunts and my parents went for a bbq at their house this weekend. I think that is pretty nice but I could never see it working in my case! they are way too different to get a long.

My Mom and My FIL went to HS together…so when we finally met and put two and two together, we figured it out.. Also my dad is a pharmasict and my Fil is a dentist so they talk about HMO's all the time… We do spend holidays together.. I call it practicve for when i have kids so that I do not have to choses what parents we are going

My parents and my in-laws live a couple of hours away, but my mom and MIL do talk on the phone about once a month. My grandmother recently died in Long Island, where my in-laws live, and they attended the wake. I'm sure that my mother and in-laws will get together in the future.

Having families get along is wonderful.

Anna: FH's name is Krzysztof (Christopher in Polish) and I believe his name day was Friday, but we celebrated on Saturday
