Re: past carlyle brides!!

I had about 150 guests and hardly anyone was standing
there are a good amount of tables set up in the cocktail room and there are also tons of tables and chairs set up in the hallway as well as the little couch area in the cocktail room as well.
I fyou are concerned just talk to your banquet manager and they will be more then willing to help figure something out but I dont think it will really be a concern

Re: past carlyle brides!!

I am very nervous about it.... we are planning on having 175-200people.

my mom suggested having them take the couches out and put tables in it's place for more table room..... i hate the fact that there are tables in the hallway but the bm said we can leave the doors to the room across the ch room open and guests can float into there.

i'm just worried guest will feel out of party if they are in there.

Re: past carlyle brides!!

to be honest it was nice seeing guest sit all overthe place--in the hall, in the cocktail room, and in the room across the hall---it made the party nice and spread out---gave people lots of room and just looked nice when you walked around---it also allowed the passed hordeurves (sp?) to flow nicely around the room and in the hallway. Unless people are just not telling me---and I have heard ever little detial about my wedding from family and friends---no one seemed to mind at all they actually liked either sitting with a large group of people or more quiet and small with just their wife or husband ect......
honestly just speak to you bm and express your concerns and listen to their suggestions----they know what they are talking about!!! the carlyle is not a place you need to stress about at all!!!

Re: past carlyle brides!!

i thought about it too b/c we are having atleast 200 guests. I'm hoping the weather is good and people will be outside. I counted the tables but don't have the figure with me. I'm sure it won't be a problem--the bm will make it all work out!

Re: past carlyle brides!!

We had about 230 guests, and as far as I know, there were no complaints about the space. I have been to many events (other locations) that didn't have 'enough' chairs at the cocktail hour, so I think it is fairly common to have guests standing up during that time. Its supposed to help with the schmoozing!
There really is a lot of space at the COTG, just not all in the same room!

Re: past carlyle brides!!

i think my florist said there are about 18 tables in the actual cocktail hour room.

There are some in the foyer, outside and I am having them leave the rooms on the other side of the hallway open for guests to use as well.
