PAST Thatched Cottage Brides

Original post by JaredsGirl

Does anyone have pictures of your wedding onsite. I would love to see some pictures of the outdoor location and inside as well while a wedding was going on. Thanks in advance

When I originally went over the menu with Toni-Anne I wasn't offered a choice of dessert either. She said exactly what was on the menu, which is the pastries. Only once we changed to getting a package, the Viennese table was included. Although I believe she did say that the Viennese separetly was around $12.50 pp or something crazy like that.

I would also like to know what the placecards and menus look like What did the flowers on the piano look like?

I was told they try to do a general/nuetral floral arrangement for the piano (useally a high cp though) because it is there for all parties of the weekend. The ones that I have seen while visiting/making a payment have all been beautiful though. (I think they just got pedestals as one of their house florists!) Not sure if you can request certain colors..prob. not.

Andre told me that you can't request special colors but that the CP is 'seasonally appropriate.'

I had no idea about the menus or the flowers on the piano!!! It doesnt say that anywhere on my paperwork, only the placecards. Toni-definately did not mention a choice for desert but I'm definately going to ask if I go in there becasue that is something I would love to have!! I feel like they need to get better about giving information--we are all told different things. Anyone have more info on the menus and/or piano flowers??

Re: PAST Thatched Cottage Brides

Only thing I remember about the menus is that it is customized to what ever you choose for the day and I THINK (dont quote me) they put your name and date on them... It was so long ago I am sorry I dont remember but that sounds familiar. And the flower arrangement every time I have been there has been a tall CP like arrangement, I have seen it about a week old and they are still beautiful!

Was anyone told about the heaters and firepit outside and if you have to pay for them? They kind of breezed through them quickly and I dont remember. I think I overheard Toni anne telling someone depending on the time of year they were free but I never got to ask Andre

Does anyone remember being told how many people are seated at each table? I ordered candle CP the other day and I was trying to figure out if I ordered enough

I am so glad we have this tread to help eachother out

They do put your names and dates on the menu.

I am not sure about the heaters but I will add that to my list. My ceremony is outside so I don't want my guest to freeze.

What do your centerpieces look like? Just curious because I love candles and I was thinking about doing all candles and then just rose petals scattered on the table. My cousin did that at her wedding and they looked really nice.

I think you can put however many people at each table. I have a smaller wedding (120) so I will probably put 10 per table so people aren't squished together. I wish we had round tables.

I had a smaller wedding there too, a little under 140 guests. Orignally I made up all my tables and already wrote out the table cards for tables of ten people.
Unfortunatley, they did not allow me to have it this way. They said it had to be at least 12-14 per table, and one table of 16. I was mad, because I had a hard time making the tables, and now I had to redo it!!!! But thankfully it worked out fine. But take my advice, before you write out the table cards, ask them if they will allow 10 per table.

I was just thinking this! It makes me more excited, since there aren't too many other Thatched Cottage brides!

hm I am not sure about the table arrangements, but that is definitely a good question. I am also have a small wedding...my minimum is only 100 people, so hopefully they don't make me put 12 people at a table, that would look silly.

But I do think candles and rose petals would look pretty!! I'm not sure what I am doing for centerpieces, but I am just thinking something simple like gerbera daisies in a vase with maybe some votives around the table.

Is it only me or does anyone else what to cover the swan table (where bride and groom sit) with a table cloth? FH thinks I am crazy! I am a little

Re: PAST Thatched Cottage Brides

I just called and and asked them some questions--

1-Do you have candelabra for each table? No
2-Do you charge extra for outside heaters? No
3-Can we have a rehearsal prior to the day of the wedding or should we do it on the same day? Either is allowed
4-Do we get a champagne toast? Yes
5- Are we allowed to have 10 people per table? Yes. She said they usually take the total number and divide by 12 ( I guess this means 12 tables). So if you had 120 guest and divided that by 12 you would have 10 per table.

Wow, thanks for calling! Thats good to know about the tables.

and YES I have already told FH that we are covering the swan table with a table cloth or something. When Andre was giving us a tour, he said that you can choose a different table or probably meaning if you want a table cloth. This was good because it is definitely not my style.

So what are you ladies doing for a color scheme? My dress is ivory and my girls dresses are rose with a brown ribbon around the waist. So i think my color scheme will be ivory, rose and chocolate brown. What color table clothes do you think I should go with? Ivory? What color are you picking?

I actually JUST bought my centerpieces spur of the moment sunday! Another bride on here said how Dillards was having a sale on these candle things and I went to peek just cause I was nosey and ended up ordering 24 of them!! I am planning on putting two sets on each table. Just haven't decided if I am going to cluster them all together or place one set on each end of the oval tables. (I HATE oval tables!! lol) And I will probably sprinkle some rose petals around them or get a small CP made. I ended up getting them for $12 a set!! And just got them this morning! (even though it said they were on back order!) I cant wait to go home and see them

Heres a pic

Those are so pretty!!! I think they would look nice with the 2 tallest starting in the middle of the table and then working there way down to the smallest on each end. So pretty. i will probably do something like this too. Since the TC has low ceilings I am not sure that high center pieces would work. And we will save some money too. PS- where is dillards? I have heard of them but didnt know we had one on LI.

Re: PAST Thatched Cottage Brides

Ya the ceilings were my concern too. I actually ordered them off their website and they came with in 3 days. I think they are located down south...The tallest one is 20 inches high, so I was thinking of doing what you said tood. FH was funny because he knows I usually change my mind twenty times and was shocked when I said I ordered them., So I showed him the pic last night and he goes... 'well looks like everyones getting candle holders for christmas for the next 4 years!!'

We should really start a Question and answers thread for thatched like they have for other RH, because this is a HUGE help! Thanks ladies!!
