Past/Future Brides...did anyone NOT have a cake toper?

i just can't seem to find a cake topper that FH and i like. nothing jumps out at us and i have been searching up and down! not even one that could sit next to the cake or something.

did anyone not or plan not, to have a cake topper at all?

I didn't have one, we just had the florist put some fresh flowers on top of the cake.

I'm in the same boat as you. Nothing I find interests me, so I think I'll just leave it alone.

We didn't....Honestly I cannot think of a wedding I've been to recently that DID have one and I was acutally kind of under the impression that not many people do them at all any more...either way it's one less thing to worry about

I am with you Melissa. I am really not feeling the cake toppers I've been seeing. Probably won't have one.

I dont think we are having one unless someone buys us one. Then of course we will have to put it out but like you there hasn't been one that has jumoed out at me either

We're not doing a cake topper either. We're going to have the florist decorate the top of the cake with flowers.

but to decorate the table a bit we bought letters and we're going to spray paint them to match our colors and spell something special out with them

I did not. None of the ones I saw really thrilled me. The florist put flowers on top of the cake which was very pretty.

I wasn't going to use one but then I fell in love with one because it was different from the usual suspects. Picture is in my album if you CLICK HERE. Of course, they put it in the wrong place but oh well.

we're planning on making ours (actually, the whole top tier) because of the same reason. nothing out there is 'us.'

Same for me....personally, I think the cake toppers are cheesy. my florist is giving me some petals to decorate...

in retrospect, i wish I hadnt had one... DH insisted on the stupid thing.... but whatever-- he rarley asked for anything

Personally I love the wedding cake plain or with fresh flowers.... More sophisticated...I know some catering halls ahve even taken a flower from each boquet of BM's and added it to it....
