Patients are killing me!--VENT
Normally I would just tell this to my DH but he went to buy a scanner. I'm an RDH in a dental office. Saturdays are a big day schedule wise, they get filled quick--EVERYBODY wants a Saturday. I start at 7:45am. Naturally, the first patient ( a NEW patient) wanders in 15 minutes late. Great, the next patient is going to be pi$$ed because now I'm backed up right out of the gates. Oh goody, one patient doesn't bother to show up. Oh wonderful another cancels 1 hour before their appointment. Can I tell you how freaking crazy this makes me...do you think a dentist is going to pay staff when no patient is in the chair??? Do you think we yell YIPPEE and party for that hour...no, the dentist gets upset, the RDH gets upset, the front desk gets frantic looking for a patient to fill the spot.
I lost 7 hours of pay during the last significant snowfall because the dentist sent me home--too many patients cancelled. Now the weather gets nice and they cancel because they want to go do other things. I understand being sick, I don't want to patients with fevers or what not. But not bothering to call or waiting till ONE HOUR before the appointment to cancel is just rude and inconsiderate.
Thanks ladies for letting me vent...and remember--call at least 24 hours before your dental appointments to cancel or risk the wrath of the RDH! ( the one with sharp instruments)
