Re: Patken Photography
I see you are a manor east bride. Did you tell them that? They knock off from their price a little and throw in some extra's.I am paying almost 3k for my photo's and getting so much. They are definatly worth it.
I am getting my album, 2 parent albums, 3 8x10's, 100 thank yous, colorizations, a 20x20, and i dont remember what else I am getting at the moment, but I am getting a lot.
I love them

Re: Patken Photography
definatly negotiate with them. We did. Thats how I got my colorization. They had originally offered us 75 TY's and we got 100 at no extra charge.Talk to Doug. He is great with negotiating and helping you lower your cost. Their were things we took out like the 5 photo's on one page and that lowered the cost, certain things in the albums, that lowered the cost and we got a gift certificate as well. we are going to use the GC to add to the albums.

Re: Patken Photography
When we looked we saw Vinny but then when it came time to talking about prices Doug came in. We spent about an hour or 2 with Doug just going over prices (this is before the contract was signed)We told him this is the package Vinny came up with and this is what we dont like, someone else offered this, I want this, tell me what can you do we are on a budget. And he did it. He redid the package to fit our needs and threw in the colorization, the gift certificate, and the 25 extra thank you's at no charge.
Then we looked at it again and went over everything and a few moments later FI and I signed the contract.

Re: Patken Photography
We met with Doug- we called to schedule an appointment to meet with him. He is wonderful. We are actually paying a lot of money for pics because we are using Doug and he charges more than the rest of the photographers, but to me it is so worth it. He was very good to work with- he actually had us sit with a few albums and asked us which one we liked the best (in order for us to pick our photographer). We ended up picking his album. We are going to be cutting corners elsewhere, because I think the memories of the day (the pix and video) are really the most important parts. If you feel comfortable, I highly recommend making an appointment to meet with Doug- he will definitely work with you!!!

Re: Patken Photography
If I am correct, colorization is the black and white with the partial colors filled in (for example, rose petals might be pink while the rest of the picture is black and white).

Re: Patken Photography
Definatly. Look at your package and see what you want and what you dont want. If their is something you want and dont see it make a note of it so when you go in you can tell them about it. If their is something you dont want make a note of it and tell them, they will take it out and deduct it from the price. Then make an appointment and ask to see Doug. Tell them you want to work this all out with him (he is the owner)Colorization is when the photo is black and white but their is one object that is in color. For example it could be the bride and groom kissing and just her bouquet is in color.
I had to have that photo. It was something that was important to me. Patken threw it in for free as apart of our package.
Definatly go in with a budget in mind, what you want, what you dont want, and what others are offering. Doug will definatly work with you. And definatly tell them you are a Manor East bride. They will knock off 300 dollars. It may not seem like a whole lot, but it really does make a difference.
