I asked all of my girls if they wanted to have their hair and makeup done for the wedding and they all said yes. I booked my makeup artist and got her for half price because she is the sister of one of my friends. Well now, all of my girls are freaking out over the price, saying it's too much. Mind you, I'm not asking them to buy traditional BMs dresses or anything. One of my girls is even wearing a dress she already has, which I think is great because it's an amazing dress and looks stunning on her. Sooo, my question is are you paying for your BMs hair and/or makeup? I was going to try to pay for their makeup as a surprise gift, but if I can't I don't want to drag this girl all the way to me for just my makeup. Plus I already told her all of the girls would be getting done.

I am not paying for their makeup (or hair). I told them how much my m/u artist charges, and gave them the option. If they want it done, fine, if not, whatever. They're all pretty girls, and as long as they look good, I don't care who does their hair/mu.
Same here!

Re: Paying for Makeup for BMs???
As of right now no, but I wish I could. They all said they wanted to get it done but I imagine only three really know what it really costs! I am hoping to have a little extra money to get them G/C to the salon to put towards their hair and M/U. But I am also basing my decision on how much each salon costs, with them in mind. Good Luck with your decision.

Re: Paying for Makeup for BMs???
I'm probably paying for my MOH and my mom's hair. My BM (FSIL) is having hers paid by FMIL. But if I had more than that, I wouldn't pay. I think it's reasonable to have them pay for themselves, especially if they didn't have to buy a dress!

hey they could always go to macy's makeup counter and get it done there for free..
It is not free...most lines require you to purchase at least 3 items or a set dollar amount worth of products.

I was for awhile, but just cant pull it off. So instead I gave them the option, if they wanted both done they pay...if not they can do it themselves

Same here - I let them all know abt the girl I booked, the amt she charges, and all the details - If they want - they will go to her, if not they will do it themselves or go elsewhere.

Re: Paying for Makeup for BMs???
I was in one wedding where the bride paid for my hair, but I paid for my own makeup. Don't feel obligated to pay for their makeup...

Elizabeth Arden, Benefit, Estee Lauder and Clinque do it for free.. you are not obliged to buy .. I usually just buy a lipstick or some eyeshadow just out of courtesy..

Re: Paying for Makeup for BMs???
I think I'll be paying for my BP's hair & makeup. I was in two of their BP's when they were getting married and they both paid for mine at the time, so I feel I should return the favor.

Re: Paying for Makeup for BMs???
Hell NO! haha that would be an insane amount of money. I am having all of them come to my house already dressed and ready to take pics. Too much of a hassle to all get ready in one house. What they do with their hair/make up is up to them.

Thanks girls. I'm going to give them the option. They may change their minds. You're all always so helpful.

I am not paying for my girls to have their makeup done, but I am also not making them get their makeup done. If they want to, they know how much it costs...So far, everyone has been great about it!

I'm not paying for mine. It's up to them if they want to spend the money.

Re: Paying for Makeup for BMs???
I'm not paying for my BMs. I would be upset if they complained about prices after you arranged something and got them a 1/2 price deal. Make up is expensive and they should have considered that before all saying yes.
I hope everything works out

Re: Paying for Makeup for BMs???
I am paying for all my girls hair and makeup. I thought it was the right thing to do - but that is my own personal opinion - it's not right for everyone.
