We kinda share money so to us it doesnt really matter, but I think I have heard that before.

we share our money also, and since we both put $$ in to the wedding account when the time came I took out the $$ and physically paid for his ring and vica versa.

Re: Paying for wedding bands?
We budgeted rings into the total wedding budget.. While, it is almost enough for his, it is not NEARLY enough for mine.. So, it basically covers off on a nice amount towards the rings- the rest of it we are saving for.

Re: Paying for wedding bands?
I thought of this too. Considering, I am paying for the wedding and he is paying for our much needed home improvements (about the same amount) I started thinking... ooohhh, does this mean I'm buying my own ring? Isn't that weird? Oh no, I can't buy my own ring? Isn't that like a jinx or something? Then my MOH told me that when she got engaged they were living together and pooling all of their money so it's not like her DH was paying for the ring with just his money. To make herself feel better she told him that he had to write the check out every month. I can see how this makes sense.

Re: Paying for wedding bands?
We are buying each other our rings for Christmas (I am buying his, he is buying mind) but what that really means is that we are both putting extra money into our joint account to use for rings. We ordered them already - we both fell in love with rings at Fortunoff. They are coming in December, we are so excited!

Re: Paying for wedding bands?
we share $ too. Similar to David'sBride's response... my money goes towards the wedding, and he pays for all the home stuff. So, in theory, i guess i paid for my own
But, as long as he's the one that puts it on my finger, it doesnt really make a difference to me

Re: Paying for wedding bands?
We pool the $ too. Living together for so long everything is pooled! lol We put the deposits on my card and it gets paid off by both of us. I guess I could imagine his is for mine and vice versa. The important thing I think is that he pays for the engagement ring and hopefully some anniversary rings!

Re: Paying for wedding bands?
All of our money is pooled. I assume it would come out of the total wedding budget though.

It's the same with us. We share money. I have heard this though, that you buy the rings for eachother.

Re: Paying for wedding bands?
i've heard it done all different ways. i think its more traditional to buy each other's bands. if you share money then you share the total costs, so that makes sense too. and a friend of mine bought her own since what she wanted was more bling than he had $ for, and she was fine with it. he bought his own. both were very happy with that.

Re: Paying for wedding bands?
we share $$. my ering could have been a down payment on a home or a very nice car so he is going to get an awesome band and i will find a suitable mate for it.
