Ok ladies I need some advice....I'm in the process of gathering decor ideas for my wedding and even though flowers are way off from being booked right now I wanted to know if peonies are a good choice?
Many of you have them in your pics did they hold up throughout the day?
Are they expensive???
I absolutely love them, but if their not a durable flower that will look crappy after the ceremony I need to start looking into other flowers.
Thank you!

Re: Peonies as a bouquet & CP's
peonies are on the more expensive side. They're only in season for such a short period of time, many of them even for just 4-6 weeks. They'll cost more than alot of flowers regardless but once they're not in season the price does go up even higher.

I have heard that they hold up pretty well, but have a short season. They can e expensive depending on your florist, but some florists are now starting to charge the same no matter what the flower. Burtons does this, and a friend of mine looked into Flower Michelle and Pedastals and they gave her the same price no matter what the flower. So they may be a good place to start...

The BMs and I had peonies in my bouquet and they held up fine all day. The previous posters are right about them having a short season. My wedding was in May, which is prime peony time. I see in your tag that you are getting married in late June. I'm pretty sure they're still in season then but double check with your florist. We used John at Flower Michele and were pretty pleased with FM's work. Good luck.

I think they are still in season for your date, but if so it's the very end of the season.....my wedding is the first week of June and I was told that's late in the season, but I will be having peonies....and I'm psyched for them!
ETA: They weren't that expensive for me, Bo-Ks are all peonies, but CPs are a combo of different flowers, including peonies...

I had peonies in all boks and they held up very well, it was hot and humid and i really thought that they would begin to lose their luster but they didnt. And to be quite honest they were NOT that expensive. All the boks were not that expensice (they had rununculus in them also), mine was a little more but not much. here is a picture from 4 hours after delivery outside the church and a picture of all the girls flowers and also from after the ceremony-about 5-6 hours later

thank you for posting this....I was hoping to use Peonies for my July wedding, but it might be too late.
I have yet to make some florist appointments, I'm sure you can always get anything for a price!

peonies are absolutely gorgous..but they are a more expensive flower. There are a lot of girls who've used them..u can check out the brides review board for ideas & info for some florists. i'd try to go for one like stated above, where they'll charge a general cost regardless of the flower...try flower michelle. also, my florist was a private florist...her & her husband have their own flower farm & they do everything out of their home. she's fantastic and saved me SOO much money..so if u cant get a decent price swing me some FM & i'll give u all her info good luck!

I think Pedestals is starting to do this now. Because I just visted them after the holidays and they told me the same thing that they have one set price for centerpieces and boquet no matter flower you want. I am including peonies in my boquet

so if i go now although i already booked almost a year ago will they change this for me W** hahaha. Its funny because just today FH said he'll put more money towards our balance at pedestals this week and i said yeah we'll call for samples of our cp's too. I wonder if us brides who already booked can get this maybe it will lower my price...currently i do have peonies for my bok, calla's for bm's bok's and mini calla bouts for the guys. High Cp's are calla's, orchids and curly willow branches

We all know that they are very flexible. Maybe there is something that can be done for you. It does not hurt to try.

This flower industry is great big hustle. When I have kids I am going to tell them to be wedding florist and photographers.!!!
