People are pissing me off

I told yet another 'good' friend the official date and the FMIL and I got the same reply.... 'why are you waiting so long?' I'm like... HELLO, are you paying for my wedding??? So annoying... anyone else get this?

Actually I haven't gotten that yet...I get more of the 'why are you having it in august,its hot, Why is there such a big gap between your reception and ceremony, why is the place further out east when Ott people are coming'..its sooooo annoying..its my damn wedding! So I know how you feel!

And here I was thinking that only my friends were that rude! My coworkers were pissed because they want to go to a party sooner. Apparently I'm supposed to be getting married so my coworkers can get drunk and have a good time. And to think I thought I was getting married because I found my life partner, go figure.

trust me i understand i had posted a while back my own grandmother said... 'Why are u waiting so long' and i said well im still in school and im poor and so is FH. and she said 'well i guess thats good cuz now i dont need to get u a gift'

Just let it go when they realize what they said they'll feel stupid

I get it ALL the time, and it pisses me off too. Seriously, when people ask 'what are you waiting so long for?', no matter what the response is, it makes it a rude question. I mean, my reason is that I work full time and am finishing up my Masters Degree at night, and if I had to plan a wedding on top of that, I'd have a nervous breakdown. Is that seriously what casually interested coworkers want to hear? No, they just want to make their snotty comments and move on. Makes me mad!

I know. I got engaged in July and felt uncomfortable telling people we'd be getting married 2 years later. It did seem so far but we are young and have to get out lives and careers together before I take we take that step. Today I told someone my date and they said 'oh, next June' We are so close to 2007 that our dates soon won't be sounding too far!....scary?...maybe a lil'

everyone always has something to say.. when people say that to me i tell them to buy me a house and pay for my wedding and we'll have it tomorrow.. lol it will be here before we know it..

I'm right there with you... FH & I are getting married shortly after we purchase our first house(we hope)... We want to go home to a house & wait longer to get married, that was our decission. I hate when people judge it, or take it as a personal insult b/c that's not their plan.

WOW my thoughts exactly. I get stuff all the time that 2008 is so far. Who i should invite or not invite. Its sooo annoying. Plus We just bought a house 2 months ago, and we are waiting for our variances to go through. So 2007 we will be in construction. I tell people who bother me, that i would rather have a gourmet kitchen and 7 foot stall shower than ONE day!

I love when people say that' oh you are waiting so long!!' Well incase you havent realized morons it is impossible to afford anything on this island these days none the less a house and a wedding, excuse me if we have to save!!!!!

i knoe exactly what u are going through- when i said i'm getting married june 08- that are like wow thats a long engagement!! i just ignore them now- i said u know weddings do cost alot! especially on long island

well.. i'm glad i'm not the only one. I mean, I don't understand. If one of my cousins, or friends, or anything were getting married, all I would have to say is good luck. Its just so annoying always having to justify myself.... <<<>>> ok thanks girls!!!!

I get that all the time. 2 Years why so long?? They don't realizes that it takes time and money to plan a wedding. And 2 years isn't really that long. Most people now are waiting atleast 2 years.

2 years comes really fast. Before you know it, It will be all over.

Everyone will have comments..if its one thing i've learned....its that you have to grow thick skin...everyone is already complaining that i want to get married in Suffolk....jsut remember its YOUR wedding...do it how you want it...they'll have fun no matter where or when!!!

I got it too!! Even when I booked the church date the priest said to me ohhh you are really trying to get ahead of the game.. why are you waiting so long....
