Tell me why everyone FH works with is telling him not to get married. He tells me people are saying this to him all the time. He says is really discouraging because everyone is telling him that they got divorced, can't stand their spouses, whatever. He told me tells them he knows he got a good one. But still, it is so rude with just over a week to the wedding to be telling someone not to get married. What is he supposed to say, 'Yeah you're right, let me call her and tell her its off?'

Men are so ridiculous sometimes......My FH loves to tantalize them they start with the whole' this is the end of your life..don't get married' and so forth...he calls me and starts talking about our color scheme...LOL its pretty funny and all the guys on the floor start screaming in the background...I tell them im going to tape them and show their wives!!! LOL

The night we got engaged, my bil got on the phone and tried to talk him out of it. I think some people like to be jerks. One lady once told me not to get married because she was divorced and that she had a book about why marriages won't last. I avoid her like the plague now. 'NO to negativity'

In my job everyone tells me. that i a crazy!!!!!!!!! all the time but now its not that bad anymore, but if someone told me i am crazy to get married i was going to scream at them.....

I think a lot of people also think it's 'funny' to say that stuff. I know a lot of my guy-friends say it because they're trying to be tough or cool or something, but don't really mean it.

My FH has been getting this too. It's quite annoying and rude but I know FH ignores it. I like your FH's response...I'm gonna tell mine to say the same.

That is pretty RUDE to say, especially a week before your wedding. I hope he did not invite these same people to the wedding. I remember when FH and I were in a book store and I was buying Bridal Magazines and the cashier goes 'You're getting married? My condolences. ' *******

thats an increbily insensitve thing to say to someone who's getting married in a week. yes, we know not all marriages work out, that is no surprise. but why even talk about divorce before you are even married???

your FH works with a bunch of selfish jerks! IMO, no wonder they're divorced
my DH got a few 'don't do it' cracks at work, but they were all in good fun followed up with a slap on the back.

All of DH's friends did this to him before we got married, it was really annoying and to the point where they were saying it to him in front of me. Our response to them, who are all married, is just because you're miserable doesn't mean we'll be and stop being jealous of us. Worked..and shut them up.
