People making it about themselves
My FH & I booked our wedding and we were super excited esp bc we got a great deal for a dream wedding...he called his Bro, the BM and the Sister-in-law picked up...she is a BM. So He told her the date and she was like oh...thats near her daughters bday (i.e. 2 days later and 2 years old bday)...I was aggravated...like I understand her husband works 6 days a week...but we already moved our initial idea bc he couldnt do that day. Cant people just be happy...we cannot plan our wedding around everyone.

Do not stress over it!! It is your day. My flower girls brithday is like 4 days before our wedding ( she will be two also). My FSIL didnt even mention how close it was to the wedding. She was actually excited that we get to celebrate two things all within a week. Ignore it.. people can be petty. Its YOURRRRRR wedding you deserve to be happy and not stress out over pleasing everyone. Take it with a grain of salt :)

Re: People making it about themselves
Don't stress, there is no such thing as making everyone happy so don't worry. We choose our date on our availability and what we figured would be good for our families. One of FH groomsmen daughter's birthday is actually on our wedding date. I think she will be 10. All he asked was if the kids were invited, which they were so no big deal.
I think you were very generous changing your date originally for them, I don't recommend doing it again.

I agree with the two posters above. You can't make everyone happy and the more you try the more stressed you'll get. It's YOUR wedding!!!!!

Agree with everybody above. When you think about all of your guests, there's a pretty strong chance that somebody's birthday is close to your wedding day, if not actually on it! One of my BM's birthday is actually the day of the rehearsal dinner and I plan on doing something for her that day. But if you start worrying about making everybody happy, you're going to end up having a miserable time. So don't sweat it!

Re: People making it about themselves
Well, it looks like your wedding date is on my birthday, but I'm ok with that.
They should NOT give you a hard time. If you are inviting kids it would be cute to have the DJ announce her birthday (as long as his SIL is behaving), the little girl might be excited to hear her name on the speakers.
My wedding date is one of my cousin's birthday. When I told her she said 'Great date!' and gave me a hug.

It'll be fine! Don't stress! Just apologize to people who complain about the date and say that date just works best, and unfortunately you can not accommodate everyone completely but this shouldn't be putting anyone out completely either. Unless you have only like 2 family members, any date you pick will be close to or on someone's birthday, anniversary, etc.

Don't change anything. Her daughter will have a birthday for years to come. Your wedding day will only happen ONCE!!!! Our best man's birthday is the night before on our rehearsal dinner. There will always be a conflict. People need to be flexible.

don't change a thing. you can't always accomodate everyone and its not even ON her birthday. My wedding is the day after my cousin's birthday and a week before my other aunts birthday, her daughters birthday and one of my BM's kids bday.its always 12 days before christmas.
theres always going to be SOMETHING. they'll get over it.

My wedding is on my brothers birthday. That's the date we liked and it was available. My brother doesn't care. Don't change it. They'll get over it.

I've come to a point where I'm like ' sorry my wedding is once in a lifetime, your birthday is once a year, or Memorial Day is celebrated every year, skipping one wont kill you... Unfortunately

Wouldn't stress it, you will find closer you get more & more people will try to make it about them. Plus side? You'll really see your true friends & family through the process!!!End of the day it's abt you and your FH /- enjoy it!!

This is the sad sad truth. You can't control how people react to things. You can only control how you handle them.
You aren't going to make everyone happy and you shouldn't try to. This is ONE time in your life. You are allowed to call the shots on this one.

My sister's b-day is 3 days before my wedding. She didn't even say anything. But I plan to do something for her. Maybe make the DJ play 'In Da Club' for her... 'go shortie it's your birthday... we gon party like it's your birthday' She'll be fine.... You can have the waiter bring out a cupcake for her at the table... and just let the table sing happy birthday.

Hate to crash 2013 bride, but couldnt help myself. My uncle married on my 7th birthday and I was flower girl. He made me feel like it was a special birthday for me. My aunt his wife's birthday was the day before. We still call each other for birthdays and anniversarys. We never forget.
