Seems like no one can do or say anything anymore without *somebody* crying they have been offended! It was just a performance, and they were just costumes!!!!!!!
ETA -- If anything, I was more offended by Andre3000 being an As-hole when he accepted that first award by not thanking anyone -- especially the fans who helped make his a$$ rich!

Re: People need to lighten up.
This is so dumb...
And, I guess this means that no one can dress up as an Indian on Halloween anymore for fear of offending someone.
Actually, we may as well just ban Halloween altogether because we'll offend just about everyone.

Re: People need to lighten up.
I agree that there are cerrtain traditions that might be seen as offensive, and certain sayings that have racist origins and shoudl therefore be banned.....times chnange and so should we.
but i think it's ridiculous that this whole 'offensive' thing has gotten so out of hand! I mean, whatever happened to freedom of expression? It's not OK for Janet to briefy flash a nipple, but it's ok for Lil Kim to intentionally choose a dress to wear to the MTV awards that left an entire breast exposed? And dont' even get me started on the Sports Illustrated 'Swimsuit' Edition!
And Andre from Outkast has always been a 'creative' dresser! Who's to say that he wasn't trying honor Indians by dressing up as one?
