people suck

FHs dad proposed to his girlfriend a couple of weeks after we got engaged. When I made no move to plan anything right away, they set a date for october 09. Well...since I have started planning and we are getting married july 12, they suddenly changed their date to MAY 24TH

I don't get it. Why are they trying to steal our thunder??

I'd be mad too!! My dad proposed to his GF last year and she originally wanted to get married in Sept or Oct of this year, when I am getting married in November. I made a big stink about it and it took a while for my Dad to see it was wrong. So now they are getting married some time in the spring.

I dont think they will be stealing your thunder because their wedding will be way over before you get married...and then once their wedding is over it will be about you and your FH

FH should talk to his dad, tell him you both are upset and ask why they moved up the date. maybe he doesnt realize and they wanted to move upthe wedding for whatver reason and didnt want it to be too close to yours?

People are so stupid sometimes! UGH!

I didn't need to voice my opinion to fhs mom and brothers, because they were like what the hell?? and fh doesnt want to start trouble..

I feel bad for his mom because she feels dads girlfriend is trying to take over her family. They actually asked me to be in the wedding..and i am not even that close to them! His dad is having the girlfriends son as best man and he has 3 sons of his own. AND they arent inviting FHs mom and he had the AUDACITY to call her and ask if his sister, neice and her hubby could stay at fhs moms house..!! These people are UNbelievable. It makes me so mad

My cousin (before he split with his girlfriend) was going to get married on MY wedding day!! All of my family (since it was his second marriage- his wife is dead about only a year atm) was in an uproar before I even heard about it.. they didn't want to even tell me thinking that I would go Bridezilla on his a$$... I was calm about it though and it worked out because they called it all off and now he's coming to my wedding.. but the family is still mad at him for even trying to pull that crap.

that is annoying but you know what - they just look foolish doing it...don't let it make you so upset you don't enjoy your planning and don't let it become an issue for you and FH.....

I am really not upset. Just annoyed. Its is LESS than 2 months before. I am not annoyed that they are getting married so close, just that they waited until we set a date, and changed theirs to be before ours. Its just rude..

i kinda know how you feel. we got engaged in Aug 2006 Fh cousin got engaged dec after and his other cousin this past summer. The one from the summer is getting married in March, snuck in before us, and the other cousin 3 weeks after us uugghh so annoying. They couldn't give a little more time. We will literally getting back from our HM which is 3 weeks and going to their wedding. I am so excited for them but really that close to ours, and his friend is the weekwnd after that.

You think that they would be the ones who know and understand. I hope that they come to their senses and postphone their wedding so the both of you can have a beautiful wedding and be treated like the special couple.
