people who appologize over a vendor rant... my rant

I just saw this on the BHB board. someone appologizing for putting their opinion up on a vendor. If you got horrible service or was pooped on your wedding day by a vendor I want to know.

I see this person appologizing for making girls scared over her complaint on a vendor. (now i didn't read her original post so this is just a general rant for any person who i have read that appologizes for a rant).

SCARE ME.. i want to know who is going to b/s me when I book them or if I have booked them and there is enough complaints i will print them out and march down to the vendor slap them on his/her desk and say void my damn contract otherwise i will sue you.

MY GOD what is the point of this board but to look up good/bad vendors. I don't understand why everyone has to kiss people's vendors butts or this individual's butts because they are afriad of feelings are being hurt. Grow up ... complain about a bad experience so i am educated.. this is the point of the board.

I know I just read it too... and unfortunately it does cause drama but i want to know honeslty about any vendor i am using or thinking of using. I dont want to hear only good things, if they are for a majority BAD!

yes agreed...they all attacked the poor girl for putting up her OPINION!

I personally would like to know bad things about vendors even if they r mine so i can make sure it doesnt happen to me :)

i 100% agree......but there are two problems with that

a) people who have no tact and just say things like your RH is ugly (believe me - I've seen it many times) and quite frankly that is NOT educational. Say it maturely.

b) LIWeddings is not some non-profit organization (I don't know that for sure but I assume).....they have people to promote and they get sued for slander just like everyone else.

I saw negative criticism of my RH hall and I addressed this in my contract specifically....so I know the benefit of negative criticism.....but on the other hand lets not be naive here - criticism gets edited ALL THE TIME....I definitely wouldn't count on this forum for completely unbiased information. You would need something like craigslist for brides to accomplish that.......

I agree that people should not apologize for 'scaring' other people though. Please. Scare me.

I agree, if you were treated poorly by a vendor then you have the right to complain and warn others
BUT, ive seen some that shouldn't be posted...Like yesterday a girl called a vendor thieves but wouldn't say why or what happened...This thread was on its 5th page last i checked...There were girls who were planning on going but now were scared.

Well someone else posted why she made that statement and honestly, the store wasn't wrong...You ordered a CUSTOMIZED veil and now you change your dress color and want it in a different color...Well thats why you need to really think twice before ordering a customized piece, most places dont take anything back that is customized...you want another one made for you then youhave to pay for the other one

i got introuble for a vendor rant from LIW and i just dont do them anymore...cause of something i heard from a person that had a certain photog for her wedding..they showed up drunk..and i got introuble for putting it up

I am def with you on this one...I would love to know what I get myself into when I meet this people...I have never planned a wedding before so I have no idea when I am getting scammed and what not..

i got a message from LIW saying that i had one more chance or else i would be kicked off and i also got an email from the company saying that would never work with me

That is crazy! We should be able to talk freely about our experiences with our vendors without worrying about getting kicked off the site. Hmmm......

The problem i think is that some brides will bash a vendor and say nasty things about them but in the end the bride was wrong...NOT all but alot...its what i was saying in the 'please read your contracts' thread...you will have a bride who will sign papers, something will happen and they want to change their RH, or whatever reason they have and they just expect to get everything back, but uhmmm it states clearly in your contract that you wont, then they freak out even more when some find out that not only will they not receive the money they already put down but they owe money now.

Plus its one thing to say this person showed up late for my wedding or they forgot this, you always see this up on LIW and it doesn't get taken down...But to say the vendor was drunk is also personal slander and you don't want to get mixed up in the middle of that...its better off they told you to take it down...i mean what if this vendor read this and wanted to sue you, seriously it can happen.
