We booked the Grande St Lucian...its new and of course beautiful...and from what most people said its the best one in St. Lucia...but of course you will hear your mixed reviews.

I am not really sure why we booked St lucia it was something that just came to us...but we are so excited to go!!! I mean you cant go wrong with an island vacation!!!

How many days are you going for? Did you hear if it was for younger/middle-aged or older people? I was looking at the Whitehouse but havent' heard much about it.

Re: People who booked Sandals

we booked with sandals antigua...we met with a travel agent who said for HM's antigua was very romantic...also we knew several people who had gone there and loved it...one last thing antigua has several more restaurants than some other sandals resorts and so since we will be there for about 2 weeks we thought it would be kinda nice to visit different places...but what is great about sandals in general is that you can stay at one resort but visit all of them...all inclusive

Re: People who booked Sandals

I've been to sandals royal Bohemian and The Grande in St. Lucia

Being to both we prefer the Bahamas. Mainly because we did not feel like commuting back and forth to different locations to eat - they are not near by and its inconvienient. Also the commute from airport to hotel in st lucia is very long over 2 hours and you drive through the ghetto!

Differences from St Lucia.

*the casino is near by (gives you something else to do at night - even though we arent gamblers at all)
*there are 8 restuarants (you dont have to commute to the other locations like in st. lucia)
*There are 2 pools that have swim up bars
*

The Grande - St. Lucia - Differences from Bahamas

*Water sports included - let you try water skiing, they have tubing (a boat pulls you) snorkeling trips
'plunge pools behind spa (dont think that bahamas had this)

If i think of more I will add

** Oh and I hear that the whitehouse is gorgeous. we know people who have been for 10 days and now are going on their honeymoon there again - i think 12 days.

personally i think 10 -12 days is too much to stay at a place - its gets played out!

We booked Whitehouse Jamica. We loved that it was off the beaten path (it's in 500acres of lush preserve) but still had all the amenities we would want. The fact that it's all inclusive did sweeten the deal.

We're staying for 9nights/10days. I did agree I thought it's too long to be in the carribean for a vacation. Europe got my vote, but we wouldn't travel to eurpoe for just 10 days. The flight is so long for such a short trip. FH brought up that we are having a Weekend Wedding w/ 3 days of events and it will nice to have 10 days to nothing but relax, and play in the sun, and I couldn't agree more!

My FIL's leave next week for their trip to Whitehouse Jamica. They're previewing our honeymoon. When I spoke to my TA on Friday to book Vegas for Jan. she mentioned that she was leaving Sat for a week stay at Whitehouse.

So I'll have a review from my TA and my FIL's in a few weeks.

Re: People who booked Sandals

We booked with Sandals St. Lucia Regency
8 days 7 nights in the room one above basic. We choose this b.c if we booked with the honeymoon suite we could only stay 5 days and 4 nights. and to me id rather stay longer then have a more $$ room. Again this is the reason we choose the regency over the grande it was a bit cheaper and plus once you book with sandals you can visit any of the 3 and reep the benifits. so Why spend the extra if your on a budget. We also booked with them cuz we caught the 50%off sale so our total before airfare ended up at like 3500.. it was so worth it!! i have a great travel agent if your interested! but those are my reasons. any ?'s just ask!

ps. we picked St. Lucia b/c FILs travel to all of the sandals resorts all the time. And they said that this is the most tropical and beautiful of them all.. just their opinion so thats why we picked it. plus we will prob. not have money to do this again for a long long time so why not.
