I know this may be an inappropriate question to some but I was wondering how much per plate halls are charging and how much gratuity?
I was curious to see the differences. I have heard anywhere from 65 per plate plus 20% grat to upowards of 150.00 per plate..........yikes

Re: Per plate?
Hi I spoke to them and actually am not worried anymore. Its memorial day weekend and water is expected to be in fully by end of march but the landscaping may not all be there. Which is no problem for me since my wedding is at night....all I wanted was water in the lake lol :)
We are paying 79 per plate plus tax with 100 guarantee.

Re: Per plate?
I looked at a place in Bayville - up from $185 a plate for a Sat night!! Needless to say, did not book there. Your $$ sounds reasonable - for NY weddings anyway - the most-part of the US would laugh at what we pay for weddings! LOL

Mine works out to be 50/pp & 18% & 8.75%tax = 63.00.
This for a Sunday afternoon on 10/31. I think it's a good deal.

Re: Per plate?
Isnt it crazy how much everything comes too?!?! We could NEVER afford this wedding if it wasnt in february ( which was fine with the both of us) -we have saved so much $$ from all our vendors so far b/c its ' an off month' Honestly I would have liked to have some nice pictures outside.. but my luck it would rain that day anyway and I would be stuck with this big bill and the same exact result im getting now at half the cost. Lets just pray we have the same weather next feb. as we did two years ago .. it was soooooo beautiful out the second week of feb. !!!

Re: Per plate?
It really varies by time of year, day of the week and when you booked. For instance, I booked my hall for my original 4/30/05 date in July 2003. I only pay 15% gratuity but I know they raised it to 18% (like most other halls) this year. When I changed to 2004, I actually got a better deal because I guess the prices were lower for 2004 and then went up in 2005. I got a better deal for a Saturday Night in October (typically a more expensive month) than I got for April 2005 (trying to save money by going with less popular month)!

Re: Per plate?
mine was $87 per plate, plus tax plus 22% grat. There was an additional cost for our viennese, but we did not pay for it so I do't know how it broke down.
