I'm debating about adding one to my reception. Any thoughts? Are they too loud?

I added one also. I have never seen one perform but my friends said that it really adds alot. Also its nice because people who don't dance have something to watch.

My DJ and videographer (they work together) are bringing one in. They said it creates a sound that people will just go crazy over. I'm excited for it.

I went to a wedding 2 years ago that had one. It wasn't too loud at all. That was the 1st time I ever saw one added at a wedding and I thought it was interesting! At one point he even let the kids at the wedding go up and play for a little while with him. It was really cute and even that wasn't too loud or annoying in any way.

for us a percussionist was a must--since we were going to play so much latin music (salsa, mergengue, etc.) at our wedding.

all our guests complimented us on it so much and said they were amazed at how much of a fuller sound the percussionist gave to the music. a few ppl said they thought for a minute that we had a live band when they walked into the reception!
