I like the look of the shimmery paper (which I think is called Stardream), and would love to use that for the petal cones.
For ladies who have used this type of paper,
1 - where did you purchase it from?
2 - what size paper did you order? ETA: and how many cones did you get out of each page?
3 - how many lbs. was the paper?
4 - were the petal cones easy to make with this paper?
TIA for your help!

Re: Petal Cones - Stardream Paper
I purchased my paper from Mygatsby - it matches my invites. I tried making petal cones from 60lb paper - I taped it together and it quickly came apart. the paper was to heavy.

Re: Petal Cones - Stardream Paper
buy text stock from paper-source.com - they have a few stardream colors available. I would buy 8.5x11 and cut it down to 6x6

Re: Petal Cones - Stardream Paper
I saw a few of the colors of the stardream paper at AC Moore. I think it was 12x12, but not completely sure

I don't know if you're able to go to the city, but Paper Presentation on 18th street has the text weight stardream paper. I was just there yesterday. Here is a link to their website:

It seems like the lower weight is best. The 32# is basically like the weight of resume paper -- not as thin as copy paper, but not quite as thick as cardstock.

I got my invitation paper at Paper Presentation. They have the stardream color you are referring to.

Re: Petal Cones - Stardream Paper
I was at paper presentation last week and that paper is gorgeous. I would think a lighter weight would be easier to keep together.

I got the paper for my petal cones at www.paperandmore.com
I am using their platinum vellum. It's perfect, and stays together. The paper is a good wieght, but not to heavy. It is a shimmery paper, and it was cheap! (people will think I spent more though!)
Good luck!

Thanks for the responses ladies,,,, and keep your suggestions coming!
For those who responded, what size was the paper you used and how many cones did you get out of each page?
Thank you again!

Check out the DIY board - CJB88 (and on her review) made gorgeous ones. She bought 12x12 - but you can buy 8.5x11 and cut them down to 6x6. Use text size - the lighter weight/# for them as they hold best.
I actually used circular dolies that I bought and it was super easy!
