The jury has reached a verdict and it will be announced at 4:30. So will he get life in jail or death? What punishment would you like to see?

actually.. it will end up costing us more ... according to CNN
then keeping him alive for the next 50 years...i don't believe that!

yeah i know... i wouldnt either... but thats what they said.. i was alittle shocked... either way he's going to be alive for many years to come.. but who knows... it doesnt sound right, but its just what i heard

I just don't see how keeping him alive, in good health, fed, clothed and given activities, employ the MANY people who work for the correctional facility, training these employees, supplying them with the garments and weapons to protect them, keeping that correctional facility with lights and heat and hot water AND airconditioning for the next 40-50 years could be LESS than giving him a lethal injection

Those figures incorporate the cost of the appeals process for the state by those on death row. Taking into account the number of appeals and the tax money spent on them is where the figure discrepancy lies.
IMO those on death row get way too many appeals so this logic doesn't fly with me.

I guess my bottom line is it is God (or higher power or mother nature) who takes a life... no man should take another life-- I don't see it as EVER being good.
There is no room for death with justifications.
edited to add: I also think all people that comitt murder are 'ill'.. no normal person would EVER do something like that... s

I agree. I dont see how it's OK for a juror to say that this person should die and not OK for the person who felt the same about their victim before they commited the act. Murder is wrong no matter who does it. The juror may not have injected the neddle but indirectly they are causing another person to die.
