Petite Wedding Gowns

Please recommend places that carry Petite wedding gowns

I don't think bridal salons carry petite sample gowns. However, designers can make petite gowns for you for no additional charge. When my salon ordered my gowns they just order petite and it came hemmed to your height.

no need to limit yourself to looking for a petite gown. I'm 5'2', and here's what i did:

when you find the dress you want, make sure you have the shoes you plan to wear on the day of the wedding (or at least a pair of shoes that are the same height as what you want to wear). When they're taking your measurments, ask them to take a HOLLOW-TO-HEM measurement...they'll measure from the hollow of your neck to the hem, and the dress will be made to that specific length. You usually have to pay a fee for this up front (I paid $100), BUT the length is PERFECT for me!!! So I don't have to worry about getting the dress hemmed, and running into alteration problems with the hem. Nor do i lose the very beautiful beading and lace around the edge of the skirt and train.

None of the places I went to carried petite and I am 4'11' so it was a little difficult to not trip over the dress but def dont limit yourself cuz most desingers have petite lines. try on the regular sizes and then order petite

I am only 4'11 and I order a regular dress and the designer(demetrios) did the hem. Cost me a 100 dollars to have the designer do it. You don't necessarily need to get a petite wedding gown. It can always be altered.

i just got a regular dress in the smallest size, and had it hemmed. it worked out fine.

I am 4'11' too and I got my dress at Demetrios...I did a hollow-to-hem and it fit perfectly-I didn't need any alterations at all!!! Like the previous poster, it comes exactly fitted to your height so you don't lose any of the detailing at the bottom

jsut so you know, hollow to hem will just help with the length and is typically done only when there is work on the bottom of the gown or on the train. If you are concerned with the 'fit' of the gown this wont really help. I am 5 ft and i got a regular style wedding gown..not hollow to hem. HTH

Ah I love all of you petite brides. I'm also 4' 11' - well okay, more like 4' 10' and I also did the hollow-to-hem measurement - best thing ever! It makes the dress proportioned correctly to your body and all I needed when it came in was a little bit taken in. It was great!
