Is it normal to pick the number amount of photos you want in your album before you see your proofs?
This guy said if we went with a certain amount of photos for our album and decided after we see our proofs that we want more picures added to the album it would be $32 per additional image!!!!
Why should I have to make that decision before hand?
Again, if this is something normal please let me know.

Re: Photo
well yes and no............
I was told the album will have anywhere from 60-80 pics depending on the layout I choose. Bc it is a digital album there is a lot of back and worth with designing it.
I have NEVER heard of an extra charge to see your proofs first.. I have always heard you pick the # of pics beforehand though.
If you are uncomfortable with them then DON'T GO WITH THEM! The photog is with you for 10 hours of your wedding day. You really don't want to be followed around and told what to do, where to pose.. etc. by someone you don't like already.
Have you checked Duet? They are very reasonable and very accomodating

have you tried Thomas Paul yet? he is so down to earth, makes you feel really comfortable and not just like another client, like he really appreciates each and every one of his clients

Re: Photo
Well at Patken there was such a difference for the next size package and their price per additional image was so reasonable that we decided to go with the lower price book and then take it from there.
I know it sounds ridiculous but this is going to prevent us from going nuts with all of the effects photogs can do now a days and will keep us with an album of quality, not quantity.
Hope that helped.

Re: Photo
My photographer is Mark Kauffman from Angelica studios in Port Jefferson. He's great and he doesn't try to sell you a package. His work is AMAZING and his prices are reasonable. If you are looking out this way, try looking him up. You probably won't be sorry that you did.

Re: Photo
I think it is very normal to pick the package in advance. But I think $30+ per additional photo is insane.
I'm using Imagine Studios and the cost for additional photos is MUCH less!

yea its normal to pic out your album package b4 hand....my album is 12x12 with 85 pics and the parent albums i think have 40....so yes that part is normal....however i think charging an additional $32 per extra pic is NOT.

I have NEVER heard of charging to add a photo into an album...Who is this you met with??? (Write out their name with spaces in between the letters and LIW cant block it out)
I booked with Paul Marino and I cannot reccomend him enough...He is SOOO laid back but very professional at the same time. He really wants to see the bride and groom happy, he strives really hard to achieve that. It also helps that his photo's are incredible!!! He is by far the BEST photog we have ever seen!!!

Re: Photo
just about any photographer you meet with will put either a number of pics or # of pages for an album in your conrtract. and yes, it is normal for the photographer to charge you for more pics for your album. we used patken, and our album included 50 pics. we stayed with out 50 so we wouldn't have to pay anything extra. my MIL added 20 pics to her album, and it was quite a bit more $$ for her to add them, but she wanted. i can only speak for patken, but if you do your album within 2 weeks of picking up your proofs, the extra prints for the album were 50% off. HTH.

Re: Photo
My photographer is charging me $1200.00. $600.00 deposit & $600.00 the day of the wedding. He is giving me a hi-res disc AT THE END OF MY PARTY!!! With rights to do whatever I want with! He gave me a place to do my thank you cards & prints......turns out it's a professional photo lab where many of these photographers go. I found out I can get my albums done there also. My cousin did it and saved BIG $$$$$. If I want I can go back to him at any time to do my albums & whatever else I want. However, I think I'm going the route my cousin did.The best thing is I don't have to lay out all kinds of $$$$ before my wedding for things I not sure I'm going to need.

i just got 24 images in a magazine style album for fhh and i.. if i wanted to add more pix its 22$ each.. its better to add on than to take out. ya kno? plus.. i can make my own albums on snapfish or those other photo websites for 50$. photogs charge like 250-400 for their albums.

Re: Photo
Definitely normal to pick your package before you see proofs. My album is going to be 10x13 and have 70 pics. Each parent album is going to have 20 pics. I didn't ask about additional pics because I didn't even think of it. I also, however will get full rights to my pictures, so I can take my proofs to CVS, Walmart, etc. and print out whatever else I want at my own leisure.
BUT, $32 per extra pic is OUTRAGEOUS! That's just highway robbery.
