Photo Booth

Original post by renrico

I wanted to originally do a photo booth, but now I am unsure. I was told by some that the guests spent the entire time on line to take photos instead of out and dancing on the floor with the bride and groom. I want everyone to be out and dancing and not just taking pictures at the photo booth, but it seemed like such a fun idea. Does anyone have any experience with one at their wedding? And some prices??

Photo Booths are AWESOME. We are definetely doing it!! I went to several weddings with them and with one specific company. They were very organized, kept it fun, and quick. The pictures were then doubled as a favor- the favor was a picture frame perfectly sized for the photo booth picture. It also became a really great keepsake for the couple. The machine printed two copies of each picture- one for the guest and one for the wedding couple. The person who worked the booth took the other copy and pasted it right into a scrapbook where you could sign and leave a quick message. Great!!

The company was NY Digital Memories. Awesome :o)

I'm getting my photo booth for $700 for 4 hours from Timeless Tales. I'm also getting a usb drive of the images from the night, props, and am considering doing the frames and scrapbook.

Re: Photo Booth

Hands down getting a photo booth for my wedding was the best decision we made!! My guests LOVED it, i have hundreds of amazing pictures and people still ask me about it today. I went through Fairy Tale Events and got a really great price bc we booked kind of close to the wedding. We had over 200 ppl at our wedding so even when there was 20 ppl on line you never noticed. Also, the attendant helped to make sure the line didn't get too crazy. I would DEF recommend it.

Our friends had a photobooth and it was so much fun that we had to book one at our wedding in August. It did NOT affect the people on the dance floor. We are using it as entertainment, favors and our sign in book. We got a deal for $850 that included all the above. Definitely worth it!!!

That's not bad! Which company did u use?

I am using Fairytale Events of NY. I got a coupon that had packages for $849 and $649. It was a better deal than anything I had heard about or found on Groupon. I would contact that company and find out what deals they are running now. The lady I was in contact with through email was very quick with responses and giving me info. Good luck!

It's funny you say that communication with them was easy. I got an email from then in December with the same deal if u book by New Year's. I contacted them & at first they responded, asking me my wedding date, after I emailed it to them I never heard back. I tried calling them several times but got a machine - left voicemail but no call back. Even if my date was not available, they should have still emailed me back.

A friend had a photo booth at his wedding and it was a big hit.

I'd love to have one, but I'm not sure its worth the expense??

Had a big talk with my bridal party about the photo booth option, and came to the conclusion that, though it would be fun, we are hiring a photographer for a reason, and if people are waiting in line for a photo booth the whole night instead of dancing, it'd take away from the party. Just my two cents.

It's up to you, you can get frames for the pics & it can double as a favor! Plus it makes ur guest book that much more fun! Think of it as an upgrade from putting the one time use cameras on each table!

My friend did it at her wedding. There was never a long line. It was next to the dancefloor so people kept dancing until they saw the photobooth was available. I had a great time taking pictures. The couple had a scrapbook made right there at the wedding and the guests got to take home a copy of the photos. I thought it was worth it.

It's a great idea and not everyone likes to dance all night. It's a nice thing to offer to break up the entertainment.
