Re: photo question

I think that sounds a bit high! I am using ADA. I was quoted 2400 that is with tax and an assistant for the photographer.

I am getting a princess album with a panoramic pic with about 50 pics.
I also get a 5x7 photo for everyone in the bridal party which is (24)
I get 2 8x10, 1 11x14 and 1 16x20
I am also getting 3 parent folios.

Check out ADA they seem reasonable. I also hear rave reviews on Photography by Verdi and Cassarino.

Good Luck!

I almost forgot. I am getting all the proofs and a proof album. The proofs look like pics themselves! And 75 thank you photos and cards!

Re: photo question

250 proofs is NOT enough for 11 hours. That is about 22 photos per HOUR! I can take more photos than that at my nephews b-day party. Does that include color and b&w? Of course, this is JMO. Proofs are not perfect photos so you have people's eyes closed, you made an odd face, you don't like the way it is set-up etc..etc... So you have to take almost 1/2 out of the stack for that kind of stuff. So now, you only have about 125 good photos to choice from. That is not enough IMO.
I think stating the # and size of the enlargements for the album before you see the photos is not a good idea. Until I saw my photos and really looked at them I would never have been able to know which photos would look good in which sizes. You should get a package that includes (for example) 43 pages, and not specific sizes.
And that price is high from this package. Which vendor is this?

I'm with Michele on this one.. 250 is DEF not enough..

Re: photo question

On my contract it says 700 proffs.,

But then don't even ask me.

We went pic happy.. and I am having an extended wedding..

I took 73 pics alone at my scrapbook party on Fri!!

Re: photo question

I was just about to say the same thing - I don't think the price is too crazy high, but only 250 proofs is way too low.

michelle31 you have forum mail

Re: photo question

Agree - 250 is not even close to enough.

Re: photo question

yep! just double checked and its only 250+ on proofs. Whats avg?

Re: photo question

I also wouldn't evaluated the price just on the number of photos alone. Who your photographer is really matters. I'm all about quality not quantity. What studio is this quote from?

MarcellaBella Posted:

Re: photo question

well, although I agree with quality being better than quantity, I unfortunately, am my worst critic and do not photograph well, so I want alot of proofs and alot to choose from, as well as to be being able to see things I may not have been able to catch that day, being that it goes soo fast..

Re: photo question

For me, photographer was the one of the most important vendors. I wanted a lot of pictures to choose from and GREAT quality. I went with JoVon and I'm getting a photographer, asst, and photo journalist for the entire day (incl my house and my FI's hotel room while we get ready), 1000+ proofs, engagement photo session in Central Park w/50 proofs, and a bunch of enlargements, and up to 2 albums with 80 photos. I'm paying $4500. If you don't have the photojournalist it would be less. FM me with any other questions.

Re: photo question

I recognize that package I know the photographer, i have them.

I think that is fine. We were quoted the same, but then we eliminated certain things and it brought the price lower.

FM me if you want more details

Re: photo question

Thanks everyone for your input. I agree this is not enough for the money. I am going to keep looking. Any recommendations would be great! Thanks again.

Re: photo question

Keep looking! I used VIP and was very happy. Had two photographers. One shooting color, the other black and white with a photojournalisitic style. I set up a package that I have a collage style album with 100 pictures, two parent slip in albums, all proofs (which I got 1050) and an assortment of individual prints and thank you pics.

Re: photo question

Also its over 250 proofs. Depends on the photographer. The photographer we have is known to take over 400 pics. so all of our proofs will be in an album.

we actually got a great package we were able to customize and within our price range
