Photog. Help (Patken or Duet?) REVIEWS PLEASE!!

Hi girls! So I have read many reviews on Duet and really like what I see, but when I called to schedule an appointment, they were more expensive than Patken and gave A LOT less.

Patken is cheaper and gives more...but gives less photos ..I think...a liitle confused...lol. But I figured I could pay for the ones I want anyway...or I get them on CD...a while later. I

VERY CONFUSED..and your opinions would really help.........

i dont know anything about patken..but we booked with duet..i know 6 people who used them and all loved them as did we when we met with them

our package was 5k for photo and video

we have 11 and a half hours of coverage with both video n photo

2 photographers
3 dvds
our album(which is digital)
2 parent albums
all the proofs
a enlargement
500 picture(the best ones that they feel)on a dvd

think thats it lol hth

I am using Duet - I have heard really great things about them - My friend used Patken and she was not happy with her pictures

But that is the only person I know who used Patken.

I was really happy with Duet - they really worked with my budget - you should set up an appointment with them and see what they could do for you :)

i had the same dilemma with patken and duet. when i added in patken's cost of adding in pictures to the album (i wanted more that 22 or 30 or whatever they offered), it ended up being a little bit cheaper than duet. HOwever, this was not including the second photographer.

all of duet's packages include a 2nd photog. you also need to check out other people's photos (here on LIW for example) from each company. they both have distinct styles and after researching it A LOT, i decided that duet was for me!

I'm not sure about Patken's service but I worked with Duet for my wedding and they were phenemonial. Their photographers & videographers are amazing! Their prices are a bit higher than norm I'm sure if you let the owner, Eric know, he'll will work with your budget. You should go and see both, I saw both Duet and Paken and I picked Duet I also saw 2 other photographers.

I booked Duet...I felt they gave us so much more than Patken. Meet with Duet face-to-face and negogiate. They threw in so many extras for us. They are so wonderful and willing to work with budgets- its amazing!

I agree, I met with both this week and we signed with Duet this week- The deal and service from Duet was not able to be beat! We are so excited!!

I have exactly the same thing to say about Patken! haha I know 6 people that used them my FSIL & all her in laws & cousins. They are & we got pretty much the same price plus E-Pics & 100 save the dates included... I've seen Duet's work & they are very good too though. They did my gf's wedding.

I'm just bias to Patken think their photography is out of this world. They are just so different. Their Video is awesome too. I had done alot research but no one compares to Patken to me.

I like both of their styles, but felt Patken was the right one for me.

I think wedding photography is something that you shouldn't skimp on.
Why don't you meet with both companies and see who you feel more comfortable with.

I met with both this week and 1 other as well. We felt like we were not getting enough for out money with patken and that they just were not for us. Duet threw alot in, we liked their vibe and especially their work. We also got alot more for a less $$. But I guess everyone's taste is different!

I saw both and really like Patken work...did not have great costumer service with Duet (maybe it was an off day for them)

Even though Patken was a bit more $$ and only 1 photographer they might still be worth it.

I am checking out a few more this week

My Brother and sister-in-law used Duet and have amazing pictures!!! TJ was their main photographer (I wanna say Kevin did candids, but I'm not sure of this name) But TJ did an awesome job. My brother's photos are so different from what everyone else does (kissing in every pic) TJ really has a good like for shots. I'm not even going to be looking around when I book mine, they are who I am going with.

My sister in law needed an extra wedding video for my father and they gave it to her no charge. She said they were her fav vendor to work with, they returned phone calls quickly and were always nice and accomadating (she said the opposite of Jack&Rose florists).

Just signed my contract with Duet this morning!! They threw in a lot of upgrades for free. AND I told them I would pay all cash and they took off the tax...that saved us 400 bucks
