photographer tipping question (2 photographers)

I am having two photographers with me for the entire day. I have one 'main' photographer and one 'additional' photographer.

Basically, the main photographer is the one who I got to pick, based on books of her photos, etc., but the second photographer is simply assigned. The second photographer costs less, obviously, but is also not a 'headliner' so-to-speak. (Gees, I hope this makes sense!)

Anyway, do I tip them both the same?

Hmm, that's a good question. As I read your post I realized that I am in the same situation.

I had read to tip $50-100 per photographer, so maybe its easier to do the full amount and just give it to the main photographer to 'distribute'?

We are having a 5 person crew which includes 2 photographers and videographer and lights and sound guys. I think we are just going to have 2 envelopes... one for photo and one for video and let them figure it out.

i had two photographers - though the second was supposed to be an assistant, our photog brought another main photog with him instead. they both did such an incredible job that we tipped them separately.

also, the second photog he brought is an independent photog (also has his own business), so we figured since it was almost like having two professional photography companies shooting, we gave separate tip to each.
