Photography is very important to FH and me. We love Angelica Glass's work, but she is very expensive. We are willing to splurge on photography. Do you think she is worth it?
I also like Mariann at Blue Daisy, Something in Blue (which is even more than Angelica), Laura Ryan and Henry Chan. Any feedback on any of these photographers? If you have others to suggest, please do so!

I think Laura Ryan is great. She has nice personality and her style is very up and coming.

I'm using them and they do AMAZING work. They've won many awards for their photography and I've heard great things about them.

I think she is worth it but I am partial - I booked her!
We strugggled with the price too but this wedding is costing so much money and it is one day that will go by. My pictures will last forever and be shared with my kids and grandkids one day. By knowing she is taking them, I am confident they will be beautiful - so yes - a great photog is worth it (i would cut in other places).

I agree, Kristina. I think the photos are worth it, esp since we're not having a videographer. I just want to make sure we pick the right person!

I've been emailing with a few of them about doing a photoshoot for my DH's band. They all do great work! So far they really like Blue Daisy and Angelica. All of them have good customer service!

Christian Oth's work is to die for...but he's even more expensive than AG.
If you like photos that are still contemporary but not as 'editorial' as Angelica Glass, check out Danny Weiss or Aga from Aga Images.

Laura Ryan & Katie Lyman are amazing. I used Thomaspaul so obviously i'm a fan of his work...he is also very reasonable with pricing. my review is loaded with photos if u wanna take a peak. Good luck!

I think her work is amazing and if you are able to afford her, go for it.
We booked and had Stacey Ilyse. We loved her work and it was very natural. check out her blog; she's been doing some really neat Photoshop texturing lately.

My sister used Something in Blue for her 2003 wedding and I think they were like 5k at the time. Her pics. were amazing!! I contacted them for my wedding but they said they weren't going to be in New York during that time. Imagine Studios has a similar style to them. Hope this helps.

I used AG for my wedding and seriously cant say enough about her, absolutely love her. I also booked her jan 07 so i think her rates were different, i know they changed not long ago.
Blue daisy and something in blue also do beautiful work, love both their styles. Cant talk about how it is to work with them personally so dont know about that
one of my bm's hired henry chan for her wedding in sept 08. I went with her to meet with him and seriously we sat down for him for a while and he was the nicest guy, he had us cracking up the whole time and such a great personality. His albums were gorgeous.

Espo, your photos are stunning. Part of the reason i want to use Angelica. She sent me an initial email back with her packages and I responded to meet, but haven't heard back from her. Is she normally responsive?
