Picture Perfect Studios (a guy and his wife)
Lifetyme (in NJ)
Lawrence
Hal Lyman (met him at a family party...he married my cousin's friend a week ago)
Bart Stevens
Proline
I chatted back and forth with Lina Jang

two, only because while I loved the first one I thought they were pricey. In the end we booked the first one. Spelman Studios and I have to say their work is fabulous !!!!

Duval
San Souci's house photographer (can't remember their name)
We met with Patken briefly at a bridal showcase
Fine Art
Imagine was already booked for my date, but I really liked what I'd seen of their work
Mark Kaufman (looked at the video he sent out)
Jovon
Sherwood Triart
Spelman

DH then went back with me to the last 3 and we decided to go with Spelman. We were very happy with our decision, and think that Christine did a great job of capturing our day and making us look good.

We decided to go with DUET. I am glad this search is over us, because it was really stressful and challenging trying to find the quality we wanted in our budget.

We met with about 8 photographers. We are so glad we did because after meeting with the first 3 or so we were ready to book someone. Then after meeting with different photographers we realized what we wanted and who fit us the best. It was a hard decision to make for us but we are so happy that we booked Christine from Spelman Studios.

To answer your question about haggling. You can definitely negotiate price with most photographers. Tell them what your budget is and they are usually willing to work with you.

i looked at 4 places.... the only one that doesnt bargain with you is Gray studios... the others were willing to bargain if youd book with them

I looked at a buch of Photographers, can't remember them all.
We went with Spelman Studios also ,Christine is sooo nice and I loved her work.The wedding is this sunday so when I get back from the honeymoon I'll let you know how it went.I have no doubt that the pics will be wonderful she gets nothing but rave reviews!!!

Look at a couple that way you can get a good sence of the different styles and then see what kind of pkg you can get .....

I would suggest to see Patkens (631) 888-0065
look through Dougs, Steve, Vinny and Nicks album make sure you know your wedding date so you can see who is available...

Then meet with the photographer youll get to see if your personalities blend with each other

Patkens is flexable and open to your suggestions I have heard wonderful things about them and can not wait!!! I have Doug- the owner.

We only looked at one. Fortunately we got along great with Dominick from Twelfth Night Photography and we got some great information from him. It was important to us that he didn't try to sell us something we didn't really need.

Good luck and use your gut feeling when you decide.

We looked at about 8 or 9, I agree with EvanEden, I was extremely picky with choosing a photographer. I found it hard to rely on one person. It is a one shot deal, they either get it or not.

We looked at three--Patken, Franklin Square, and Fine Art. We booked with Franklin Square---they're terrific!

WOW ladies! My head is spinning. Thank you SO much for all of your feedback and the FM's some of you sent. This is such a HUGE decision and I am so nervous! I appreciate all of your suggestions. I'll keep you posted along the way.

one - queens bridal center. I liked their work and couldn't spend a fortune on photos. I guess I could have researched it more but I live in the Bronx and I don't have the time or energy to come out to Long Island every weekend to look at photographers.

They also came highly recommended.
