I'm having a really difficult time choosing a photographer... So I figured I'd ask for a little advice....
Who was your first choice? And why?

Dan Wagner - 1st and only photographer FH and I met with, booked him on the spot. he is very nice, has been in the business for over 20 yrs and it's his own business and he's very passionate about it.
In addition, we saw his work (both in person and online) and were very impressed with his eye.
He's also photographed celebrities and has done a ton of photo shoots for magazine ads.
Does he offer Photojournalistic since it's just him? If you got to see his albums, how were they? I loved his online stuff but was scared that he'd be too expensive. I'm trying to keep photos at/below 4,000. Thanks!

So far we have seen 4.
ADA - FH was ready to book on the spot, but I refused to book first vendor we met with. Good thing. We went back b/c we had additional questions and the photographer said he would call us the next day with answers he didn't have at that moment. It has been two weeks. Haven't gotten that call.
DUET - Love their work, negotiated a great price, BUT, we cannot meet with the photographer before we book. FH won't go for that. He wants to meet the actual photographer first. (this is the reason we are not looking at Patken)
VIP Studios - We totally did not click with photographer. Nice guy, but our personalities would not work for 10 hours together. Hence the reason we want to meet actual photographer before we book.
12th Night - OMG!! I went there ONLY b/c I read Sasha's review of her wedding day. Dominick is totally amazing. FH was not with me so I couldn't book him on the spot. Finally convinced FH to meet Dom and look at his work. He was reluctant b/c 12th Night sells photography package, not wedding package. (IE: his price does not include albums).

We're going with Sherwood Triart. I just love their work. I especially love how their magazine-style albums come out. They are pricy, but pictures are very important to us.

SilverFox - I went to a few and they were actually the last ones that I went to. I was just drawn to then. John was very friendly and professional. he made me feel comfortable and of course I looked through the albums and was so impressed and saw everything that I wanted.

i went to ALOT of photographers - and after seeing about a dozen we went with bart stevens photography in east northport - he had the right vibe for us - no regrets - we even got really cool rain photos where you can see the drop frozen in mid air i would highly recommend him for everything - he does video too- great to work with and actually listens to what you want.

We went with Patken. We met with Nadira and felt extremely comfortable. She was not pushy and did not try to sell us the highest package. She also let us pick our photographer which is Vinnie. He did our engagement photos and he is so nice and professional and talented!!!
